then dere z a direct formula...let the two parallel sides be a and b...and non parallel sides be c and d...suppose (a-b)=k...then we have...S=(k+c+d)/2....now the distance btwn PARALLEL SIDES=(2/k)*[square rt of{s(s-k)(s-c)(s-d)}]..
