k yaar..

1.Two pillars of equal height are on the either side of a 100 m wide road. The angle of elevation of top of the pillars are 60 deg and 30 deg at a point on the road between the pillars. The position of the point between the pillars is...

a) 75 m from first pillar
b) 50 m from first pillar
c) 25 m from ist pillar
d) none of these

2) A water melon weighs 2500 gm. 99% of its weight is water. it is kept in a drying room and after some time it turns out that it is only 98% water by weight. now the weight in grams is..

a) 1250
b) 2450
c) 2000
d) 1200

post the steps for this question

3) A reduction of 25% in the price of bananas enables a customer to buy 2 dozen more for rs 60. The original price per dozen is...

@anticipator.lad
check yo answer for 3rd question

1) 25 m from first pillar

2) 2500 gm ----> 99% water and 1% flesh===> 1% of 2500= 25gm
After drying 98% water & 2% flesh;
Whatever weight in grams is changing, it is changing in water portion. No change in flesh weigh in grams i.e. 25gms is constant
so 2% of required weight = 25 gms
required weight = 25 * 100/2 = 1250 gms is the current weight after drying process.

3) Original Price = Rs 10
@pavi.k yes sorry for 3rd..i did calculation mistake.

its 10

Sin^6 x+ cos^6 x=(sin^2 x)^3 +(cos^2 x)^3 =(sin^4 x+ cos^4 x +sin^2 x.cos^2 x)
Sin^4 x+ cos^4 x=(sin^2 x+cos^2 x)^2 -2sin^2 x . cos^2 x=1-2sin^2 x . cos^2 x
(Sinx-cosx)^4 =(sinx+cosx)^2 . (sinx+cox)^2
substitute dese values n get

sorry from my side for not being here actually mistake a big one will try to be here from now on thanx

hi bro.. got an easiest way to solve this question..
let x=0 or 90.
i m assuming x=0
sin0=0
cos0=1
(sin0-cos0)= -1
sin0 + cos0= 1
(sin^6 0) = (sin0)^6
thus (sin^0)6 + (cos0)^6= 1

now put the value in equation.
3(-1)^4 + 6(1) + 4(1)
3+6+4=13

was i able to explain properly?
and i hope this is the easiest possible way to solve these kind of questions in exam.
If i m wrong please let me know.

parul please have a look at my solution.. you might find it more easy .. well your solution is also ok but you need to solve as soon as possible in exams.
@surajpandey well when it is not mentioned in question that anles are not equal to 90 or 0 it is easiest method
