Guys, its answer is 7 and that is right as we can never tell what is maximum or minimum in terms of tanx, cotx, cosecx and secx.... so better to solve it till sinx and cos x terms arrives...so that we can apply that ranges of sin x and cos x.. i.e. {-1,1}

Please ask, if u seek more explanation after your value comes

3+ 2(tan^2x +cot^2x).....solve it further till u deduce to in terms of sinx and cosx

I have already explained in above post when it comes to
2(sec^2x +cosec^2x) - 1

still for practise, i will expect that you do in both ways and you going to get the same answer.

Answer is 7

Dear all a word of advice do not go into CHSL & FCI with CGL preparation questions are way easier Do try to solve maximum number as in both exams quantity will matter more than quality........

As told before try to do the questions in minimum time 75% of questions would be such that you would be knowing the answer its time limit which would "PLAY THE GAME"

a merchant uses 920 gm instead of 1000 gm to sold his articles . when he sells his articles by profit of 15 % on his cost price, the actual profit is ( plz solve friends )
15 %
20 %

@anticipator.lad bhai the only reason I am not posting questions here is because I am too tensed for 15 oct once the date passes I would again become active in posting questions & answering them as for few active members UPTU & truely were selfishly bloked by moderator as a act of vengeance so was a bit angry
@watsnew24 haan bhai, i know the reasons behind the Facebook Movement.

Chalo dilli chalo...chalo FB chalo!! 😃 and i fully support that movement. lekin saachi yaar waha mujhe kuch samajh nahi aa raha ..kya, kab aur kaha post ho raha....

wo to bhala ho files section ka..ki i m getting all uploaded files at one particular point.

Bhai.. I wish you that you will never come to this FCI/CHSL forum for preparation, just be here to guide us for suggesting and posting questions... Hehehee... Bhai select ho jaana yaar CGL mein... All the best for on or before 15th thingy!!

In what ratio two kinds of teas , one at rs 120 per kg and other Rs 90/kg , be mixed to make a profit of 25% by selling the mixture at Rs 125 /kg. It is given that 2% tea is lost in preparing the mixture

A man sells a house at a loss for Rs 40000 had he sold it for Rs 50000 his gain would have been 2/3rd of his former loss. Find the CP of the house.

A man saved 37.5% of his monthly income and rest he spent to maintain his family. his monthly salary was then increased by Rs 32, his expenditure was 8% more than before but he saved money at the same rate. As a result he had to borrow Rs 42 per month. What was his monthly income before increment?

As the price of salt is raised by 12.5% a buyer gets 75gm les salt than he could buy before for Rs 3 , what is the price of 1kg salt after price was raised?

And, Mixture ka sums kaise karu, I am following Arun sharma and West bengal ka Maths book but can't solve mixture sums at all. :(

One u have to calculate other do it verbally ur choice
1. as already he is getting a profit of 15% net profit would be higher
He is getting a profit of 80 gms per 1000 more than 8% so ans would be lie greater than 23%
( u can use net effect rule if options are too close )

2.profit due to weight is (80/920) * 100 = 8.7%
Profit on price = 15%
net profit = 15 + 8.7 +(15*8.7)/100 = 25.005%

i dun noe any shortcut for 3 one will depend on the answers
1. ratio : 4:11
2. cp 46000
4. 5 rs

Please post options as well many times options give answer right away
@mukul1988 Your answers are right.How did You do them?

YE FCI ki joining Delhi me hoti hai kya......???

1. cp of mixture = 100 - 2 (due to loss in preparing) = 98
now ratio = |90-98|: |120-98| = 8:22 = 4:11

2. now diff = 10000 ( whatever he is gaining or losing is the diff b/w two sp)
and gain = 2/3 loss => gain: loss = 2: 3
so solve and u get gain 4000 and loss 6000
cp = 46000

4. its a formula we all studied in class 8 or 9

Hi!!! to all...
i m joining this thread for CHSL preparation ...
Can anyone tell is the marks validated sectional wise or as a whole combinely ;

bhai log kissine jharkhand sachivalay ka exam diya hai kya...?

(sin^2x +cos^2x) +sec^2x +cosec^2x + (tan^2x +cot^2x)
= 1 + sec^2x +cosec^2x+ (sec^2x -1+cosec^2x - 1)
=2(sec^2x +cosec^2x) - 1
= 2(1/cos^2x + 1/sin^2x) - 1
= 2{1/(sin^2x cos^2x)} - 1
To get Minimum value ; as denominator (sin^2x cos^2x) should be maximum; which is possible at 45 degree. Because for 0 and 90, the denominator gets 0 and value will goes to infinity. So putting x=45 degree
(sin^2x cos^2x= 1/4; maximum value
Minimum value of
= 2{1/(sin^2x cos^2x)} - 1
= 2(4)- 1 = 7
awesome bhai...sahi hai.. 😃 7 hi ban raha hai.

bhai thanks for advice.. we must follow you. :)

your question solution is
present age: a=15 years
b=20

yar ration 3/4 hai then isme jyada kuch nahi karna... 4 saal ho ya 400 dono ka difference same hoga... kyunki dono bade honge...

in short humein
3/4 ka ratio dhundhna hai jiska difference 5 ho.
(3*5)/(4*5)

so that will be present age of a/b=15/20.
future age of a/b= 19/24.

sahi hai bhai?
