Interview experience for delhi 31st july,9:00 am EE
very strict document verification.-Here i had to run to court to make affidavit beacause my mothers surname was not mention in my 10th certificate.If any discrepencies found in application form please make a affidavit first.
12-14 person were present to give interview for 9 am batch
two mostly were PH,SC,ST people and yes no general.
INTERVIEW:
8 people present in panel and more than half were sleeping.2 were prof for tech.
Biased panel. At morning question were asked mostly HR and 1 or 2 tech ques that too very easy but after 11 AM question were mostly tech.2-3 candidate were from iits like me and they had to suffer their wrath,i mean they were angry at something.They asked very tough question from us for eg what is ferranti effect,easy ,now reason behind it,why it happens.I mean they will ask further in depth untill u say no and then they will move to next question.
HR:
I am 2015 passout so all HR question were explaining my 2 yrs berozgari,I mean here they were frustrated like they have paid my college education. one guy from panel said,"you tried for sofware job and u weren't not able qualify their interview. In IITs these softwarre companies come and hire in bulk".Here i was confused and later i came to know he was talking about infosys and wipro.He further asked why not wipro??
From others i came to know they were asking about cil like what kind of work is for ee,have u seen any mine,will u able to live there etc easy stuff but not if you run off with thier daughters or you passout from IIT.
My suggestion get your document done first and go to interview ASAP
I think my interview was average and i will score 6/10
TIME:earlier time per candidate was around 14-18 min and 15 min for another candidate next to me who was from IIT kanpur but in my case 10 min!! i mean really...
PS:I have no idea about TA becasue i have not applied.recently they uploaded one checklist form,in my case they were providing it,pls download it and fill it.
I am SC category male,2015 passout from IIT without job. Here in cil i was getting around 156 marks.

they ask how many member in ur family,what ur father doing,from where u have done b.tech,from where u belong.in tech question they ask normal question like as,why we use star delta starter in induction motor,if we apply two bulb 40 w & 60 watt in series with 220 volt supply which will brighter more,if we give dc supply what will be happen,& why .very comfortable situation.

Interview Experience (Stream is finance, still I would like to share a few points), Hyderabad - 3rd August :-
There shall be a panel of 8-10 people sitting across the table in a jolly mood, gossiping amongst themselves. They will start with very basic question related to you and then it depends on how you react, if you go smooth and in a friendly manner then you are safe but the moment you try to be smart enough they will catch hold of you and start grilling. Be prepared for the question 'why coal india' , this seems to be their favourite one and atleast mug up the name of chairman of all the subsidiaries, this might help you to impress them. They will ask 2-3 basic technical questions and if you are able to atleast answer 10% to the point, they seem to be ok with it. If all goes well, after 2-3 minutes you will feel like you are sitting with your family for evening snacks. Be calm, confident and friendly. Mine interview was 18 minutes long, general timing was around 10 minutes.
P.S. - Be intact with all your documents, the people doing document verification are very specific about all the documents.

Interview Experience ( Electrical): Tell me about from where u r & Ur college. Tell about 2 year gap ( what you were doing, I am working in a MNC). Why do you want to leave you company. Will you work anywhere in the country? ( Northeast : Assam, Meghalaya) Technical: For the same output which machine will require more supply power Motor or Transformer? What happens when a motor gets wet, will it work or not? A cable is suppling a constant load & cable get heated up what will you do? Why Air CB can't be used with 11kV line? How will we measure insulation of Transformer? Last: Will you work in CIL or you have any plan to leave it after sometime? My request: Sir, Please do consider to prepare second list as many high scoring candidates have better options. ( I directly told them because I know mailing them won't take their attention. I request others too to request about second list.) All the best!
