Hi! I have converted Ranchi, Trichy and Udaipur in the first list. Not sure about the final decision though. :(  Was going through quora and found this. Disclaimer: I do not intend to attack any B-school. The following b schools are still better than most of the b schools in India. But I see here many PG people/mediacoms misguiding others in the name of "IIM" Tag and suggest/misguide others to join them in an IIM over colleges like MDI, NITIE, IIFT, IIT B, etc.

Read recruiters dilemma section...and I quote some statements to point out industry perception:

"Our job gets done by going to the top three IIMs where we pay Rs 15-18 lakh per annum. If I were to go to the new IIMs, I suppose I would have to pay Rs 8-10 lakh per annum. The situation is similar in Mahindra & Mahindra, or M&M, which hires from top 12 B-schools. The quality of students passing out of the new IIMs is nowhere close to that from the top IIMs. We find issues with their ability to communicate, think strategically, and apply concepts in real-life situations. We just keep contact with these new institutes..."

Really confused which one to choose. Plz mention reason if possible

IIM Shillong has the coveted "IIM" tag. 

SJMSOM has better brands(not only ops) visiting for placements plus the Bombay advantage. 

IIFT has its own brand presence and rich legacy


Haven't zeroed down on any specialisation in particular.
