inflation and different types of inflation related to banking.
inflation =defination
inflation means, a rise in general level of prices of goods and services in a economy over a period of time. so what does this conlude.
value of money looses. each unit of currency buys fewer goods. or we can say too much money chasing few goods.
it is good for a growing economy more employment more demand more needs to generate supply. but inflation should be such that is shoul support economy not disturb or hamper it.
broadly infaltion is of two types
demand pull inflation :
as the name suggest increasein price due to excess of demand over supply for the economy as a whole. basically supply cannot expand anymore to meet the demand hence demand infaltion.
cost pull inflation :
the end product price will rise if there would be increase or rise in the cost of the inputs goods may have become expensive or goods imported are expensive due to international rise in prise ex petrol other factors include rising wages , increase in corporate taxes etc.
stagflation :
this is actually happening or approaching in india.
it refers to a situation in which the economic condition or the growth of the economy is very slow or stagnant and on the other side prices are rising. now economy is hault not moving prices are rising what will happen unemployment rise in prices.
remember it as stag= not moving, inflation is related to economy easy to remember.
hyperinflation.
extremly rapid out of control inflation is termed as hyperinflation. Hyperinflation is a situation where the price increases are so out of control that the concept of inflation is meaningless.Hyperinflation often occurs when there is a large increase in the money supply. Such a situation results in an imbalance in the supply and demand for the money. in this case value of money reduces greatly may become almost to zero if remained unchecked.
galloping infaltion.
When inflation rises to ten percent or greater, it wreaks absolute havoc on the economy. Money loses value so fast that business and employee income can't keep up with costs and prices.
walking inflation
This type of strong, or pernicious, inflation is between 3-10% a year. It is harmful to the economy because it heats up economic growth too fast. People start to buy more than they need, just to avoid tomorrow's much higher prices. This drives demand even further, so that suppliers can't keep up. More important, neither can wages. As a result, common goods and services are priced out of the reach of most people.
