There are two things we all should know.
First, that there is no "good number of attempts" kind of thing. Never have a predetermined number, you'll end up making too many mistakes if you have that number and try to achieve it.
It all depends on the level of the paper, if the paper is difficult, even 65-70 attempts will help you go over the cutoff, as in the case of SBI. If the paper is easy, even 120 will not help you, as the case in UIIC paper.
The best thing is, to target sections. That which section you're going to attempt the most, depending on your strength and preparation in that section. If I were to appear, I'd target 35 in GA, 30 in English, 15 in Computer, and just over the cutoff in Quants and Reasoning. The overall can vary, because the "difficulty" which bothers everyone, will be in these two sections - Quants and Reasoning.
English is surely going to be like SBI, but the difficlty level wouldn't be that high, otherwise the sectional cutoff will be 2 or 3, given that SBI's was only 6 when 2200 vacancies were there.
Second, mocks. I'll say it again, don't give a damn about them. Just take them, analyse your mistakes, TRY to rectify them, and don't give even a second of your time in thinking about the marks. No matter what you get 55, 70 or 120. Just don't think about the scores.
