This is one type of Hub.... I also have it.. 

How it works  ... your laptop has only port you want to charge 2 mobile phones together, you are gonna insert this hub in your laptop's port.. now hub will distribute singals in every port... this device works in physical layer of OSI ..

Repeaters

Coming to repeaters... now if you have read my last post about Hub it is quite similar to hub but here ...repeaters have one more extra functionality of amplifying signals .. I know most of you have heard about amplifier.. No I am not talking about Imran khan's song... amplifier acutally amplifies any signal... but 

Input singal also contains noise induced in it ... (you can imagine of recording of song ), so repeater actually amplies desired signal means we can ignore noise .. in other word it regenerates singals... It is also part of Physical Layer in OSI

Switch

Lets talk about switch.. yes this is intelligent device... so why we are call this intelligent.. because it has capability of decision making .. Below is the Image I have added, found it somewhere on google is actually a switch.. It  makes decisions based on MAC address..( Media Access Control)... if you want to check your mac address open Comand prompt and type "ipconfig" ... well every computer has different mac address you can also modify it.. Now in a LAN connection all connected to switch... if Computer A is sending Signal to computer B then Switch will check mac address and it will send data to only Computer B.. it will not go to any other computer C or D... it means every connection is seperated... and it is secure also...  one more thing, it does not divide bandwidth unlike Hub was doing...It works in Data link layer. bascally it is because MAC address is related to Ethernet so ... ethernet is a part of Data link.

Bridges

I don't know much about bridges... but it is similar to switches... but difference is switches have more than 2 ports... whereas bridges allow 2 ports .. both are almost same works in the same layer i.e. Data linke layer of OSI... feeling lazy to post image.

 Router---> Router works in Network layer. I will tell you how it works practically... You have taken a broadband connection of BSNL now they have given you 1 ip address . if you use this ip address in your laptop how you will connect to other laptop if you have another. I mean You want to use internet in multiple devices using same ip address...here you need router... to distribute ip address dynamically generated by router... since "pura khela IP address pe hora h" that's why it works in network layer.
