I am trying to predict the cut off for Electronics Regular on the request of @nitu8
Cut off prediction is based on the historical data as provided by @nitu8
I am going to predict cut off based on realised results. So here it goes:
Last year the cut off was 49.18 for 126 (3 times the vaccancy) candidates (called for interview). Assumptions:
1) The number of students applied this time might be around 10-15% more than the last year. 2) The IQ level of the students should remain the same. 3) The level of question paper is same as that asked in previous year.
The vaccancy this time is 70(UR) which is almost 44.44% less than the previous year. But the students appeared this time are in the range of 10-15% more than the last time. Therefore the competetion has been increased by the flux of more students having the same IQ. Based on this logic that the competition has been increased at more pace than that of increase in the number of vaccancy, we can draw a conclusion that the cut off should exceed the previous limit ie, 49.18. By only using the previous data i can't predict that magic number but one thing is sure that the cut off should be more than 53 out of 75 or 70 out of 100.
