ESIC SSO Direct Recruitment 2019

ibps karwa rha to sectional cutoff to rhega hi

Amid the ongoing debate of bank PO vs ESIC, here is my two cents. Pasand nai aye toh padh k chodh dena. Pros : 1. High salary and other allowances (minimum 50K in hands) 2. Deposit rate is higher for the staff than the public (+1%) 3. Concessional loan rates like home loan @6% and car loan @6.5%. interest to be applied as simple interest instead of compound. This, in my opinion is a gamechanger because it helps u in building up your wealth by the time u retire. U will have a car and at least 2 house(urban region) at the age of 60 with no further loans. 4. Job security for all ur life. Public sector bank will never shut down. They might merge but employee will always be secured. 5. No more holiday working : the union has taken a strong step against the management this time and now nobody can be called to work on a holiday, except during unavoidable reasons like year ending. 6. Increasing concern for officers : Recently, a branch of a public sector bank was shut down for at least a week because the local MLA had humiliated the branch manager for failing to disburse KCC loans to the farmers. The management, along with the union, stood by the manager and had shut down the branch until the MLA apologised and appropriate security cover was provided. Cons : 1. Work pressure : Though this will not be the case after 5-7 years when digitalisation kicks in, it exists in the short term. Enter an urban branch, u will find there are no queue. Enter a rural branch and u will see only old villagers. I am guessing the old guys won't be around after 5-7 years. 2. Cross selling : there is a huge pressure of cross selling involved because of commission. Chief Manager and above earn more than their salary from the incentives involved. Rumour has it that an urban DGM earned 80Lakhs last year just from cross selling incentives. This increased to 10crores at the level of CGM. Imagine how much the chairman would earn. Hence, the pressure. However, now that the govt is actively looking towards the incentive business of the psb, this is unlikely to continue in the future. Most of the target nowadays is to enable cross selling via digital channel instead of just achieving the target. 3. Leave issues : Home state posting is a necessity in psb since u can visit your native place whenever there is a holiday of 2-3 days in a row. Leaves are not granted easily for officers. At the end, my experience has been a mix of good and bad stuff while one of my friend has only had good stuff and many in the group have only had bad stuff. A lot depends on your luck. If u have a practical controller over you, life will be easy. However, you might have a workaholic controller who can make your life horrible. The trick is to learn man-management over here. Understand your worth in the branch and bargain accordingly. Lastly, u need to work in order to earn 80Lakhs in a year. Money is not given to anyone for free even if it's a public sector corporate organisation. We are all competing with private banks out there and in order to earn like our private counterparts, we have to work like them as well. And before you guys ask "if bank job is so good then why do you want to join esic?" Then the ans is that i am not posted in my home state and i have said above that home posting is a necessity.

I am a 2015 B.tech ย batch pass out and former sbi po 15 batch. I am telling you the real story of banks like sbi sheer out of Compassion ย for all of you. I think this should settle the matter once and for all. Banking sector used to be a good sector till early 2000s. Nowadays it is undoubtedly the worst sector to work in. I was not aware about that as I didnโ€™t have any of my relatives in banking and people were not as open as now to share their side of story of banking life. If that would have been the case I could have saved two precious years of my life. (1.) Late working is a norm, it is quite normal in most of the branches to leave office till 8. (2.) Organisational culture follows the x theory of Mcgregor where employees are considered inefficient and there is strict monitoring. (3.) Non- cooperative staff as each one is trying to lessen their workload and transfer the responsibility to other person. (4.) High risk as it involves financial matters as we all know that during demonetisation how much bankers had to suffer, in my branch our cash officer had to pay 70000 out of his pocket and there are ample amount of such anecdotes. (5.) When you become branch manager ur leaves are rarely sanctioned as regional office always cite shortage of staff as the reason, at other positions also leaves are hardly sanctioned due to workload. (6.) Customers treat u as their servants and u have to compromise on your self respect as customer is the king. (7.) Frequent transfers and late working donโ€™t allow you to spend quality time with ur family and friends, u will always have to give priority to ur professional life over ur personal life. (8.) There are hundreds of reasons with authority to harass you while sanctioning bills in the name of circulars. (9.) You will not be appreciated for ur hard work but you will not be spared if you commit a mistake. (10.) You will have to shoulder multiple responsibilities ย like npa ย auca dues recovery, bringing new business, retaining existing business, crossselling like a salesman, govt scheme promotion, digital initiatives promotion, reporting to authorities on daily basis on various fronts etc etc. 11. Your Health may get adversely ย impacted and u may become Inhumane in ur approach to life. The list goes on.......................
