Hey do we need to qualify separately in GD/PI like we need to qualify written with with 50%... Anybody know about it??? & what wud be the salary in hand for MT in FCI
This is the information provided by an FCI employee in a facebook page
Lets start our discussion with wage and pay structure of FCI MT and other jobs like PO, SSC CGL and other and later on we will discuss stress level, Growth prospects, power etc.
1) First of all i would like to clear that FCI is PSU (Public Sector Unit) funded by central govt, so it runs on IDA (Industrial Dearness Allowance) pattern so no question of payband as compared to central and state government. Also all post of FCI is non-gazetted i.e you will not get status of civilian employee.
2) FCI is largest PSU known so far, but it don't hold status of Navratna PSU's as it is non-profit making organization and runs on subsidy.
3) If a MT Joins as Manager in
FCI on 01.07.2014 then his pay will be as per formula- Basic Pay +
(DA%+HRA% +Cafeteria%) of Basic Pay
a) for 'X' class city
Basic-16400, Dearness Allowance- 91.3% of Basic Pay as on 01.07.2014
HRA- 30%, Cafeteria (also called fringe benefit)
Gross in 'X' Class City- 16400+ (91.1%+30%+40%) of 16400 = Rs 42860 approx
b) Similarly for 'Y' (20% HRA) its- Rs 41,220/-
c) Similarly for 'Z' (10% HRA) its- Rs 39,580/-
4) Deduction from Salary will be as under
Toward CPF Contribution- 12% of (B.P+D.A)
Toward MHS(Medical Health Scheme)- Rs 80/-
Social Security Scheme- Rs 70/-
Benovalent fund- Rs 30/-
Income Tax as applicable
5) Remember, Salary may also decrease as FCI is governed by laws of IDA and this IDA is revised quarterly which may increase or decrease unlike central department depending upon Central Price Index of Necessary Commodities.
6) FCI also provide lease facilities up to maximum of 16200 in 'X' Class city and Rs 12,150/- for 'Y' and 'Z'. However its not east to get this facility unless you are posted in some zonal offices due to complex official proceedings. You may refer http://fciweb.nic.in//upload/circulars/cir-38.pdf.
7) Other than above facilities you will be paid Eight Casual Leave, Two Rstricted Holiday, 30 days Earned Leave in an year and 20 days Half Pay Leave. Out of these you can encash your earned leave in case you have not availed it after completion of three year up to thirty days. During encashment u will get 30 days basic pay +DA on the day of application.
8) Other facilities like Home Town LTC and All india LTC will be given as per rules of central government.
9) After joining as manager you will be eligible for travel in AC-II Tier class and can take hotel facilities up to maximum of Rs 2,500/- and dearness allowance as per circular enclosed (http://fciweb.nic.in//upload/circulars/Circular%20No.%20WR-13-2011-20%20.pdf)
10) After joining as MT you will have to undergo 6 month training, out of which two month will be in IFS Gurgaon where you will be paid stpend of Rs 8500/- and fooding Lodging facilities and four month will be in district offices and Field where you will be paid and additional amount of DA Rs 360/- or Rs 420/- depending upon city class, but no fooding and lodging

I will be discussing Promotion prospect and growth prospect which is most probably subjected to sanctioned Strength and Staff in Position and other factors like position in seniority list and disciplinary proceeding. All of You are requested to go through links as indicated (http://fciweb.nic.in//upload/Personnel/manpower_31032014.pdf) before going through following facts and figures.
1) A candidate selected as Manager will be promoted to Assistant General Manager(AGM) then Deputy General Manager(DGM) then General Manager(GM) and then ED(Executive Director). Normally the period after which next promotion is considered is 5 Years.
2) Since there is no departmental exam in FCI for promotion to next post so you will be promoted only in order of seniority list subject to number of vacancy in next higher post.
3) However FCI recruits Assistant General Manager directly also. Most of you must be aware of it.
4) As it is very clear from the data that how difficult it will be for Manager to get promotion to next higher post as already 1990 Managers are already in Position and 300 managers has got promotion just few days ago and near about 125 Managers is going to be inducted soon. Thus making it around 2400 Strength. Thus you can judge yourself that you will get promotion only after those already working 2000 Managers gets promotion.
5) So All in all i will say there are very few chances that you will be promoted to next higher. So growth Prospect is very poor in FCI as compared to SSC and Banks.
6) As far as workload is concerned, i would like to mention that a Manager will have to generally depend upon assistants to get their work done. But staff in position is near about 40 to 45 percent of sanctioned, so you can imagine yourself.
7) Rate of resignation of assistant joining as AG-III has been so high during recent time.
Do anybody got the response like "all the best" "better luck next time" "all the best for your future endeavours" while leaving the interview panel.
If so how to interpret their response.
Anny news of results guys???
RESULTS?
Till now we have discussed the Demerits of the FCI MT job profile. can anybody through some lights upon its merit.. & benefits of being the FCI member as MT.
hey friends few member of this forum informed us about FCI profile. I just want an opinion from you guys. most of us has an option of being a bank PO right now. but still am not able to make up my mind for which job to be enrolled. am also selected as PNB bank PO but going through health problem since few month. I applied for the job thinking as its under central govt. But now since Mr. @krishnamurthy62 has made us aware of real facts of job profile. I think of bank po but in that stream there is no scheduled working hours as compared to FCI. Moroever its offers a handsome salary after training but futuristic promotions are bit concern in here. Now predicting each job merits n demerits, can u plz suggest which job is best in long concern. Is it really true that we might end up as FCI manager at retirement.???? what are promotion prospects in FCI..???
