i called ongc chief manager(hr) regarding the recruitment procedure.i told him that ongc has recruited last year by comparing mechanical and chemical gate scores for the profile production engineer which is wrong.even the iit's which conduct the gate examination does not compare different branches gate scores.if ongc does so then for example,
ongc gate score cut off for production engineer is 800 then only 20 to 30 people from chemical will be called while from mechanical more than 1500 people will be called.here chemical people will not even get opportunity for interview.iocl takes many branches people but never compares different departments.iocl fixes the number of vacancies for a branch and later depending on thier rank in the particular branch offers the profile.it offers various profile like marketing,refinery & pipeline to different branches like mechanical will be given marketing,refinery & pipeline as well the chemical people but never compares the gate scores of different branch for the same profile.in case of ongc, production engineer is chemical's core profile and one of my senior working in ongc told me that for production ongc gave priority to chemical than mechanical before taking through gate.when i called the chief manager (hr) of ongc, he got to know about the flaw.He said that it was a very good point and also said that they should have bifurcated the number of seats among chemical and mechanical.but he said he was not assuring that the bifurcation will be done for this year.
so i urge u guys to either call or mail or file RTI in this matter.please do it as soon as possible and pressure them to be in our favour.it is already late and it should be done before they release the application form.

To, The Chairman and Managing Director ONGC Respected Sir, I, Neha Gupta, kindly wants to bring it to your notice that recruitment for the post of "Management Trainee" through GATE 2015 was held on the basis of same GATE SCORE for all the engineering branches, which has cost alot of young, eligible and talented students for their career. Sir, marks, rank and GATE SCORE vary with branch according to the difficulty level of paper. Each branch of engineering should be evaluated separately, which will be a fair mean of recruitment. All the aspirants should be provided equal chance of getting an interview call. Sir, last year only a few candidates (around 4 or 5 ) were selected from chemical engineering branch despite having 200 production seats. Most of the selected candidates were mechanical engineer. Please favor us by making sure that this do not happen again. Its my very humble request to you Sir, to kindly look into the matter. Thanking you!!!
Hi guys! One of my friends is working in IIT Bombay as a research assistant. He has not qualified GATE 2016 but is very sure that he will get admission in IIT Bombay for M.Tech. Do you guys have any idea how this is possible? I mean, is there some sort of quota for research assisants?
i m with u guys...being a petroleum engineer our story is similar...plzz raise this issue from media to sansad..
