This is what I have inferred from the reply of an RTI filed by a Chemical Engg guy, that IOCL uses this sort of thing to make final cutoff out of 100.

Gd topic : should gd be a part of recruitment process?
Gt : how an engineer should be judged? They had given a list of 10 and we had to give priority.
Interview :
1. About yourself.
2. Difference between conventional and non conventional machining. Give some example.
3. Octane number?
4. Difference between forging and casting?
5. Connecting rod should be forged or casted? Why?
6. What is hoop stress? Derive.
7.difference between impulse turbine and reaction turbine?
8. What is non sparking tool?
9. Why should i hire you?
In my case 90% of my interview was technical and only one question from area of interest which i had mentioned. Maximum questions from manufacturing. I answered all perfectly except that 'spaking tool' question. They also told very good at the end.
But i am not satisfied with my gd/gt as people were not giving chances to others and always mam has to intervene.
My rank is 181 obc, what are my chances? How crucual is gd/gt?

during interview in iocl i did well in gd/gt and in interview i did signature different as compared to gate sign does it make any problem and also they askd will u carry your parents with you then i told no is it.... Please reply me
