I have gone through all the sets and here is my analysis:
Indeed the set 2 is the toughest and may have a benefit of 3-5 marks in normalization.
The set 1 is a bit tougher than set 3 ( only a bit) and may get 1 - 2 marks benefit.
Set 3 may loose 1 - 2 marks but not more than that in respect to the difficulty level of Set 1.
PS: I had the set 3 and i tried to put a rational analysis, views are personal only.

Set 2 If you have ghosh and mallick for Manufacturing Science, open page 353, Ex 6.6, you will get answer of ECM problem . Answer is 51.5mm/min....(multiply ans by 13/9). I have marked this correct but did silly mistakes in easy questions....It disappoints me.

I have a doubt from set 1... there was a question to calculate thermal boundary layer thickness.. gate forum and gatementor both have used 5/sqrt(Re) to calculate boundary layer but it should be 4.64/sqrt(Re)
