The key given is 1 that is possible when the small link is just next to longest fixed link.
But the question does not specify any relative positions of the links so if we take the smallest link as coupler (opposite to the fixed link) then no possible rotation.
also the question does not specify thet we have to give maximum possibility.

In set -1 question number 50 a true strain question was asked, i had answered it as -0.693, but the correct answer was 0.693, in gate 2016 set 2, in one mark section they had asked this same question of true strain, but the correct answer in this question was -0.693, but the only difference with this question and the question they had asked in 2016 was that instead of magnitude they had asked the value of true strain, but when i checked in google, the meaning of value and magnitude is the same,so how they can allocate marks to -0.693 in one year and in the other year the same answer is wrong. so should i challenge this question considering this as a valid reason.

Yaar maths wala diya gaya tha Y=min(X1,X2) & if this the case then Y should be either X1,X2 depends on standered deviation values.....& mean will be either of these two......instead they would have Given as Y=fn(X1,X2) then the given answer is correct........ how many off you will support this...........please reply we dont have time & by today we need to challenge this.............
