In this way we can be focused on our goal..
If some more puys also interested.. we can all decide place and time..

It is good that u have started ur prep.. and 3 months is quite ideal time for prep...
Coaching for GMAT depends on many factors.. If u are well through basic concepts..and ur level of dedication for prep is high.. it is advisable to prep on ur own...

just wanted to say hi to all and i am a newbie started GMAT Study. I have done my MS in USA and have 2 years of experience over there and now back in Hyderabad. I am trying hard to study but my laziness wins over me. Its really hard to study after having started working. I thought with few interactions will able to get back in track. I am ready for any discussions in hyd. I got OG11 and started looking at RC as of now.

Not sure where to start 😃 have 5+ yrs of exp so its hard now to study 😉 but plan to give it a sincere try anyways...can anyone guide me if someone starts from scratch 3 months or so will be enough or not? I want to tgt giving gmat by first week of Aug so i can apply for IIM A PGPX etc...Count me in to start a group in Hyd

Hi,

definitely, 3 months can be enough :)

it all depends upon how much you want and need to score...

then its just up to how much effort you can and want to put in,..

finally its just a matter of getting started on it,.. u will surely find a lot of suggestions on a lot of posts...

sounds much like the plan i had :)

ended up with 770 in gmat.. though gmat was plan b,,, made it 'the' plan after after the test,., applied,,, got rejected everywhere 😞 plan A was left far back,...i am in no mans island right now,, please get a focus...

PS: this is entirely from my point of view,, no offense meant to you in anyway just a sign of caution 😃

well i stay in secunderabad, close by to old airport..its hard to conceantrate but as they say if u want something u never had, try like u never did before..

hmm.. quite true dear friend...
but i am really really sick now listening to all crap against the experience we people have,,,

u tell me man,,, what is lacking in our experience...

we face deadly deadline
we deal with monster like managers
we are paid peanuts
we still manage
we still get the work done
we dont go on strikes
we compromise, burn midnight oil, get sick to deliver the code
satisfy the client, satisfy the manger, satisfy the hr,,,,
we do technical work which is in no way easy or a child's play

still people look down on us

i believe we undergo a very rich experience ,,,

i think its just about how we project ourselves and our experience.

I might be sounding frustated, but i am really sick hearing bad things about the work we IT people do.

detail discussion wont be pleasant for me and also wont be much of use to you.

i applied to six of the top tier (top 15, usnews ranking) institiutes
i applied in first round to all of them
i guess the reason for rejection is that

1. i am not clear what i want to do in my life, what do i need an mba for
2. my interviewing skills suck... i got rejected after interview in 3 of them
3. my experience was not in line with what i wanted to do ..

my 2 cents...

either be clear on what you want to do, OR
be a good enough actor to fake it

I got dinged by Sauder School of Business a couple of weeks ago.

My profile: 690 GMAT, UG GPA:3.3, 3 yrs work exp in a top Indian IT company

This was the only school I had applied to for this Fall intake as I was short on time. I was very confident about getting in while applying coz the avg GMAT for this school is only around 630. Had the interview on April 21st which did not go all that well. Probably that was the reason for rejection. Haven't got an official letter with an explanation from the school yet. Came to know about the admission denial from their website.

Only learning from this is that good GMAT and good acads alone r not enough to make the cut even for an average b school...
