good morning sunday!!
nice questions.
1) "1958 reorganization" sounds awkward so rule out A and B. C is passive. E suggests "on the selling of on credit", gone... D remains.
2) 3:2 split again. "which" cant be used to modify people. so A,B,C are out. "their" is ambiguous in D. E is clear in its meaning as well and so the best choice.
3) A is passive, E has faulty "they" just like "it" in B. that leaves us with C and D. D suggests that "the proposal seemed to be reverting..." which is wrong so C is the answer.
4) 3:2 split again. "anxiety about" Vs "anxiety that" and anxiety that wins. past tense is not necessary in A and "refering to" is better in E that"In referece to" in A (Dnt know the exact grammer rule for that, just by practicing many questions like this). So answer should be E.
5) "In last ten years" and " over the past decade" same thing, so that rules out A,D,E. just by screening remaining 2, we can say C is the best.

6) good good question this is. my pick is E. lets see one by one
A) more as.... rather than... (gone)
B) more as a substitute than the dollar (wrong)
C) parallelism is OK but see the last part. "it weighs 8.1 grms far less than four quarters" it should be "far less than that of four quarter" so wrong.
D) weight is far lighter than" wrong for obvious fault.
E) remains. and sounds ok to me.

For question no.6

IMO its B

coz its correctly conveys the meaning that " We are talking abt Sacagawean Dollar substituting 4 quaters"and is not wordy. Plus use of lighter, instead of less, is correct when we are talking about measurable weight.

A - More rather than for is not a correct idiom

C - substitute for four quarters more than for the dollar bill because it weighs only 8.1 gms - is too wordy.

D - because its weight of only 8.1gms is far lighter than it is for - Its weight of only .... lighter, is wordy

E - as a substitute more for four quarters rather than for the dollar - Might sound as the correct idiom, but it distorts the meaning of the sentence by saying "substitute more" which implies that there is some other Dollar which can be used as a substitute as well.

Please correct me where i am wrong here ... thanks πŸ˜ƒ

The policy of applying indirect taxes, like value added tax and excise duties, that were enforced in Lithuania was less strict when compared to the European Unions members in 2000, which imposed tax rules and tariffs that, for the most part, needed to be tightened in order to harmonize with the EUs requirements and not to loosen it for the purpose of remaining competitive with trading partners outside of the EU.

c)that paragliding requires the use of a variometer since detecting thermal currents are impossible using normal human motion sensitivity
d)paragliding to require the use of a variometer due to the fact that detecting thermal currents is not possible with the use of normal human motion sensitivity
e)that paragliding requires the use of a variometer since detected thermal currents are impossible to handle using normal human motion sensitivity
