Bhai I don't think 55% will be d cutoff ...... People wid electronics are in a great number..... Last year, Only ECE students for GATE were 1.75 lacs. (far ahead from any other discipline) and in HAL people wid instrumentation also clubbed under electronics. I think 70% (atleast) will be the cutoff, provided that they give more weightage to written exam.

UthnkUknwME 70%?means 112+/160(may be who get dead easy(that to theory n easy problems in tech)paper only possible! I hav givn on 26th tech paper was too problametic !if it is 70%cutoff the who taken test hav good chances we r far away

Its not ," who have taken exam today r lucky" .... its depends upon the number of ppl taking d exam, and they are huge in number, not just handful of us, in PG. bhai I am telling you d facts. 55% is too low. Its not GATE, its an exam for JOB...... General cut off would be around 70%, (+/_ 5), period.
@UthnkUknwME buddy let me tell you this is not Gate exam where the aspirants are not less than 1.5 lakh....This is a PSu exam ...even in high profile exam like for ONGC not more than 35000 attend the exam...this is what i know from RTI that i did last year....
but if you think if todays paper is worth 110+ that may happen as i attended yesterday...but again i will tell the easiest of papers has the likes of 60%....
if u are scoring more than this u make it to PI....
By the way hw much u r expecting...i hope 110+...is it??
Even I am xpecting in 80s (+/-10)....... remember GK was very tough (Although i am below avg in it) And around 12 question on verbal were tough....
It was balanced..... There were sum "scary" circuit diagrams which I didn't touch, (although I knew how to solve them, but it was going to be a time taker, just gud old Voltage divider biased JFETs BJT and some filter diagrams). In sum cases intensive Calculation was required lyk in 1 question there was such close options lyk 3.5k, 3.6k,
Actually I concentrated more on theory questions and hardly left 2 or 3 (2 related to communication),
The numericals were based on formulae and common sense.
There were graph like questions, (In one case there was a graph between Vgs and Ig, ... and Ig was asked at Vgs = -2., pretty straight forward, just from d graph, no calculations)
Also, many questions were based on straight formulas or slight manipulation.
I don't know , I am also counting on low cut off....... Need it badly......

Approx how many will they call for PI?????
guys i have attempted cse paper on 25-11-2012 at hyderabad.i am expecting my score around 110-120(general candidate).is there any chance for me to clear the cutoff and qualify for the interview.what may be the probable cutoff for general in cse.is there any ray of hope for me because if i dont clear this i want to commit suicide and die because of not passing in any of the govt exams like cil,ecil,railtel. please guys help me out of this problem
@kamal2012 What are u talking? Do u think getting into Govt depends on number of applications you filled and no.of exams u write?
All were in ur situation only but all are trying.. Coming to me, i failed in much more than ur exams. Trying from 1.5 years with 87% in engg(CSE), 95% in 12th class etc academic background..All have problems.. Try where u r doing mistake and learn from failures.
Try and try.. ONE thing i can say. If u didn't have patience u WON'T get a govt job.
By the way, if u really get 110-120(not imaginary).. Its 100% sure that u will clear cutoff.
Sorry for harsh words, but i didn't like this kinda attitude.
@kamal2012 getting disapppointed is only natural for anyone who is trying for jobs and not making it...BUT losing hope is the last thing...believe me...if u are not confident then even if you scored 110-120 in CS , it will be tuff to clear interview if you are desparate and low in confidence....interviewers can catch that easily...
believe in your self...have confidence....as @kavs mentioned keep fighting hv patience tll you make it.....and not making it into PSU's is not the end of world....working in PSU's has its own pros and cons...
by the way is ur score 110-120 for real??? then i must say you will be the topper and if not the topper then in the top 10 from CS...paper was damn tuff for many....
