I think vacancies matter only for prelims cutoff and for mains the ratio remains same. (more vacancies means more people will get shorlist for mains and less vacancies means less ppl for mains ) so the overall ratio remains same for mains, hence vacancies donot have any impact on mains cutoff.

After watching @sushilkr post-- Logon ki poll ke answer se lag raha hai ki 60% people will get above 100 in hry. So 875 appeared in mains hence 525 people will get above 100... Vacancy only 175... Cut off will be around 105-106 coz on every mark above 100 there will be 80-90 people
