IBPS CWE PO/MT V (2015-16)

First Day First Show Questions

ENGLISH:

1) Rc was moderate.I did not read the passage. Total 10 mks including 2 synonyms, 2 antonyms which were doable.

2)Cloze test, FIB, Spotting errors were pretty straightforward. Definitely everyone on PG can breeze through these sections.

3) I found the parajumbles slightly time consuming. Overall, this section was average but english is very subjective so don't worry too much about it.

LOGICAL REASONING:

1) Coding decoding: 5 mks easy

2)Inequality: Inequalities were not coded. Only those conclusions which definitely follow were asked. 5 mks easy

3)Syllogism: Straightforward. None of them asked "which does not follow"  5 mks easy

4) Ranking: 3 mks easy

5)Blood Relations: 2 mks easy

6) Linear arrangement: 5 facing north, 5 south. Easy - Moderate 5 mks

7) Circular arrangement involving blood relations: Moderate- Difficult 5 mks

8) Complex arrangement: Arrangement involving months of the year Moderate- Difficult 5 mks.

QUANTS:

1) Quadratic eqns: a couple of questions had large values so finding roots were slightly time consuming. 5mks Moderate

2)Approximation: Regular approximation questions 5mks easy

3) DI: 1 table where few values were missing in the table. A couple of calculative questions. 1 Easy line graph with most questions involving simple addition. Total 10 mks Easy- Moderate

4)Miscellaneous: 10 mks regular aptitude questions bu some were calculative speedbreaker questions.

5) Series: 5mks Moderate

OVERALL: VERY similar to SBI prelims.

All the best..

IBPS Pre 1st day 1st slot : Comparable to SBI pre

Attempted 71

English: Easy

Jumbled sentences was a bit tricky and a bit time consuming. The RC passage should be left out to the end except for synonyms antonyms and all other questions should be attempted first.

Reasoning: Moderate/ Difficult

Attempt all questions except for the three puzzles in the beginning to secure cutoff. I felt the puzzles were difficult could only do one out of the three. No input / ouput based questions came. Basic sylogisms, coding decoding , > =

Quants: Easy / Moderate

Solve questions selectively and ensure cutoff first. I am weak in BODMAS so I left them out. Number series, quadratic(X>=Y ? type questions) all were easy. Two sets od DI came out of which one was easy(do this one.) . Statements based questions from T&W, SI/CI and aligations were doable

Was the actual paper at par with 'Olive board' tests ?

Done with the exam... Difficulty was a bit on a higher side from SBI-Pre..

English-Easy

Maths- Easy-moderate but calculative..

Reasoning- Easy except puzzles... 2/3 puzzles were tough..

Keep your cool and you can attempt 65 easily.

P.S: If you are not stuck with puzzle...

One thing. BE SELECTIVE.

8.am slot ka actual exam tym kya hai?

3rd OCT... 8:00 am...

The exam is easiest among the easy ones....

.
English - You can find out the errors in one single reading, and even the cloze test also can be completed in one single reading...
The parajumbles were easy too, but the passage was a bit long. But don't leave the synonym/antonym in passage, as the words were quite simple...
My attempts - I spent 10 mins in this section, solved 24 questions in those 10 mins... and left 6 questions from the passage.
.
LR - Except 3 puzzles (means 15 questions), everything can be done in 15 minutes... I tried, but didn't succeed in solving puzzles, but the rest 20 questions were easy. The syllogisms didn't contain any complex concepts, and even the inequalities were asked directly. The blood relation also can be found in one single reading...
My attempts - I spent 30 mins in this section, solved 20 questions in 15 mins, and then came back at last to waste last 15 mins in solving those 3 puzzles, but didn't succeed.
.
Quants - This was the easiest quants I have seen till date... The simplification and equations contains small numbers, not the large ones which need long calculations.. And the DI contained direct questions... even other questions can be solved by just putting the direct formula...
My attempts - I solved 20 questions in 20 minutes, now you can imagine how easy it was...
.
.
Total - I solved 64 questions in 45 minutes, and then in last 15 minutes, I came back to puzzles to get it on my face, and so didn't attempt even a single question in those last 15 minutes, completely wasted it....
So if you don't waste time in puzzles, you can solve upto 75-80 questions...

.

Actually after completing 64 questions in 45 minutes, I became a bit complacent, and so wasted last 15 questions in those 3 puzzles,a nd got nothing...
.

And as the paper was easy, the cut-off might be a bit higher than what we expected...

all the best to everyone appearing for IBPS PO 😃

The aspects where IBPS was tougher that SBI was as below:

1. Puzzles: 2 out of 4 puzzles was quite tough.

2 para Jumble: SBI PJ was a cup of cake which was solved in 30-40 secs but in IBPS it took some time to catch.

Rest of the paper was almost similar..

All the best guys for your exams..

Time mentioned in Admit Card is reporting time?

1st slot:

English:29

[Except Passage and Rearrangement questions(both complex and time consuming) rest of the ques were easy]

Maths:20

(Easy but calculative)

Rzng:17

(Found it overall moderate as puzzles were time consuming)

Total:66

Remarks: I could add 5-6 more questions overall but wasted 6-7 minutes.

So No doubt 70+ is achievable!

All the best!
