Is there a way to find out whether a number is a perfect square or not? For eg. take 8835...how'd you know if its a perfect square (without any trial and error)?

A can build a structure in 9 days & B can break it in 4 days. A has worked for 6 days & then B joined to work with A for only 3 days. After B leaves in how many days will A alone build remaining part of structure?
