current afairs topic for ibps rrb interview

Okay so here's my interview experience.

Location : Bhopal

Panel - 3

Time - 1:00 PM

Abby left the house at 12 and reached the Central Bank of India Officers Training College, Arera Hills  around 12:25 and got nervous seeing large number of guys outside the gate who were well dressed like me 😛

I was like don't they have a seating arrangement inside, I would get fried in this scorching heat...but this is India, the guard said they will only let us inside at 1PM. So I began searching for shelter...any place where I  can read my notes peacefully and what did I found....one of my friend who is a PNB Clerk in Indore standing in a shade smiling at me. There goes my plan to cram anything significant in the last moment. I greeted him and after a while he started talking about how his branch doesn't handle any cash related transactions, as it deals mainly in Loan to corporate houses and industrialists, and how his life is peaceful as compared to others. I was like yeah yeah...We were wondering about the coincidences of having the same centers for 3 exams in a row and the having the same panel and joked about possibility of marrying the same girl 😛

Anyway irrelevant stuff aside, we entered the hall at 1 PM. We were made to sit in 3 rows. The first for those whose interview is by Panel 1, second for Panel 2 and 3rd for Panel 3. I noticed earlier that interview of Scale 2 was also held in the morning, and then I got to know the interviews of morning scale 1 candidates was still going on...

Then they started instructing us to self attest every document. The photocopy set. So that I did. And they handed us the register to write the name, mobile number and sign. Then he started calling names of candidates to get their documents verified and bio metrics in a separate room. When I got there for verification, they asked me to write anything in a small white paper, at least 5 lines in the languages I preferred. I wrote the same thing in Hindi and English. And after this whole verification process was finished, they took the documents and  asked me to wait in opposite room where the interview was taking place. They sent us in a batch of 5. Batch of 5 for 3 panels each. .There was a bell system for calling candidates. Each time a bell rang, a candidate leaves and another enters. My number was 3rd. I was giving myself a pep talk to take it easy. Don't panic Abby, if you fumble you'd give it away. But each time the bell rang and it rang more than 5 times as we didn't know whose panel's bell it was as it was a big hall :P. The guy who sits at the door was getting confused too and many times opened wrong door at the wrong time lol. So after each bell, my heart beat faster than the Mitchell Starc's fastest ball. Finally my turned arrived and I knocked on the door and entered. The time was almost 4 PM.

There were 5 members. I greeted them good afternoon sir. There was a women, who was staring at me and I wished her too and immediately made an assumption she is the one. She is the one who is going to watch my body language...the psychology expert 😛

So the central guy, who looked like the head of the panel asked me to take a seat which I did, and immediately asked where was I from while looking at the application form closely.

I was taken aback. No the seat was comfortable, I was expecting an ice breaker like Tell me about yourself etc.

"Bhopal" I said, and I knew he was asking my native place, so I added Raipur.

Sar mein Bhopal se hun, but pehle hum Raipur mein rehte the. Papa ka transfer idhar hua tha, fir yahin settled ho gaye.

"When?"

"2006'

"Accha ye Raipur kis rajya mein padta hai kuch pata hai"

"Chhatisgarh"

"Chhatisgarh aur MP alag kab hue"

"1st Nov 2000"

"Accha abhi kitne states hain India mein?"

"29"

Then he asked what was the need to divide the two states, I answered it along the lines of better administration then he countered with a question that if we divided more states in India, would those states perform better? Why not? America has 50 states and they are performing better? Why can't India?

I tried to explain if we would divide more states, then more and more people and communities  would demand their own states, and it'd be a huge burden to the Central Govt. to allocate funds to these states for their development, plus there would be constitutional problems if these happened, but he had a question for my every answer.  Guess I didn't had a good point to argue with, and realized along the way that it was a stress question, so i slowed down and nodded head to in agreement. I don't know what impression it gave to them.

Then another guy asked me about Anna Hazare. Who doesn't know him. I replied. Then he asked Who's the first Freedom fighter?

I was confused and didn't wanted to make a wild guess so I said "Sorry sir". And he was like do you know Rani Laxmi Bai. I was like yes sir, she was a freedom fighter too from Jhasi. I guess this was the answer, but when I came back and discussed this question with my friends, they were saying Mangal Pandey, Tipu Sultan and what not. So I guess I was not the only person who was confused. Or maybe my friends are numskull 😛

Then the head asked me what does my father do? I said "He is a retired bank manager" "Which Bank?" "SBI. It was State Bank of Indore but later merged with SBI due to Core Banking in 2010." "Why was it merged?" "To increase efficiency" And then bam! He found the link with the previous question and asked abhi to aap keh rahe the ki divide karne se productivity kam ho jaayegi, aur yahan merge karne se badh rahi hai.....I was like "What?" I wanted to say sir they are in different context. But I didn't said anything and made a poker pace.

Another guy, asked me about Core banking. I answered. And he asked me to give an example. I said "ATM". While all this was happening the Central guy, the head, was saying "Good, good" every now and then. I was like "Ye maje le raha hai kya mere" lagta hai sab galat bol raha hun. So I guess if his motive was to motivate me to not fumble, it wasn't working. It made me even more skeptic of myself and the panel members. 😛

Lastly they asked me what did I do? I said BCA. And he heard P C M. That moment I realised I really have to get to work on my voice. And the common cold I caught few days back wasn't helping me either. So I said Bachelors in Computer Applications. So he handed me to the guy who I guess is expert in grilling Computer Engineers.

He asked me What's the difference between Jpeg and Tiff.

Luckily I had read it somewhere in details, because I was bored, and it came handy and I knew in what context he was asking. So I described him the process of CTS, and why do we take 3 scanned images of Cheque etc etc. He knew I know what I was talking about. So the head again said Good Good, and at that time I wanted to ask if I am that Good, can we discuss salary? But I didn't. And he asked the other members if they wanted to ask anything else. They shook their head. So he wished me all the best, and I sighed a happy sigh.

All this lasted 5-6 minutes. I noticed most of the people were given the same duration to open themselves up.

So as you might have noticed, they asked me questions based on what I said.

Hope this helps.
