see its like that for first they will fill up their vacancy for reserved categories okay
so all high scorers go into that they get job now people who r left r less scorers so they have to get above u then only they can get in genreally they dnt come in very less and almost all fo them get two or more jobs since cut off is less for them
e.g x got 50 all seats in reserve caategory r filled now y(gen):49 then x will get job genreally they get more jobs 😃 than us so dnt worry 😃
@nitin.dot said:i wud like to clarify you all....that when we register ourselves for exam...then there are cateogories mentioned clearly like UR OBC SC ST etc etc....and when ibps declare result our cat is also mentioned there too....the rule which you are talking about is not applicable to IBPS recruitment. In this the cateogory which we chose when we fill the registration form is concerned only...and you will be given a seat in the cateogory selected by u during registration..
yes absoulutely correct even i talked with my reserve category frends they told same and plus two bank mangers who r working for more than 12 yrs they told same what u r saying :)
anybody awake ?
@ratnasen said:@Jeba is this offically correct?
am not sure whether it is officially correct or not,, But it make us to beleive by automatically generating our marks.. lets wait till IBPS release anything official

Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was what I used to think till 3 days back. But the real picture's just opposite of it!
Like, Suppose An OBC guy with an overall rank of 100, He fills his first preference as PNB. Now PNB has suppose 150 UR seats, that OBC guy will get into PNB on the General or the UR quota. But if he has taken any relaxation like he is suppose 32 years of age, then he will get PNB but in the OBC quota.
1st merit list of UR quota is made which consists of all the categories. Then people with relaxations are filtered off to their quota and UR category gets filled with some other quota candidates, after that the other quotas are filled. That's how the game's played!
@ratnasen just ask ny b.tech student for their counselling process and thn say nythng....
and one more thng.. acc. to ur way there sudn't be any vacant seats in the reserved category ryt???
but there are vacant reserved category in almost all govt. colleges....
How do we prepare the merit list of candidate?
The basic concept for preparation of any selection list is given in Clause 2(b) of G.I., Dept. of Per. & Trg. O.M. No.36012/22/93-Est. (SCT) dated 8.9.1993 which is as follows-
2(b).
In your case if out of 100 seats 50 seats are unreserved (General) and 27 are reserved for OBC and 23 are reserved for SC-STs.
Steps to prepare a selection list will be as follows-
Step (1) First of all a COMBINED MERIT LIST consisting of general, SC, ST and OBC candidates will be prepared on the basis or their marks
obtained.
Step (2) A list of 50 candidates will be declared from this combine merit list which will consist general, SC, ST and OBC candidates on the basis or their marks obtained (Important)
Step (3) From the remaining candidates a list of 27 OBC candidates will be declared from this combine merit list on the basis or their marks obtained i.e. marks obtained less then the marks of last unreserved candidate (cutoff marks) selected.
Step (4) After step (2) from the remaining candidates a list of 23 SC-ST candidates will be declared from this combine merit list on the basis or their marks obtained i.e. marks obtained less then the marks of last unreserved candidate (cutoff marks) selected.
