Hey guys can u tell me hw many marks is a safe score for general.. plz any1 let me knw
This is my analysis of the final marks (mains + interview ) obtained by candidates as given in the final list last year. I have typed them manually from the website into excel sheet. It took me 6 days and I have included every candidate irrespective of reservation or category who scored more than or equal to 49.9 ( general cutoff ). There are 6508 candidates who scored more than or equal to 49.9.
I have grouped them further to simplify the data.
I have included everyone getting 49.9 to 50.9 as having 50 marks, similarly all the people having marks from 51 to 51.9 as included as having 51 marks.
All candidates having marks above 60 are included in 60+.
Here are the marks and candidates.

So we can from the above data that the maximum umber of candidates would be hovering near the cutoff this year also.
I don't know anout the safe-score exactly but my guess after looking at above data. I assume that it would be above 80 in mains + 40 in interview (worst case scenario) which would equate to 40 out of 100 in final list. Rest there are endless permutation and combination.

Divide entire marks coloumn by .25 get the result in whole number and remove all unwanted data in decimal. Also remove unscruplous data like 180, 200 etc manually. Thanks
