For those enquiring about salary, below is breakdown (got it from a friend posted in Mumbai)

EARNINGS

1 Base Salary                                          23700.00

2 DA (currently 54.10%)                         12821.70

3 HRA**                                                      00.00

4 City Compensatory Allowance               870.00

5 Special Allowance (Grade Pay)             1836.75

6 DA on Spl Allowance (Grade Pay)          993.68

GROSS                                                   40222.13

(**If u don't apply for lease rent then u get HRA approx Rs. 2400/-)

DEDUCTIONS

1 Profession Tax                                        200.00

2 House Rent Recovery                             113.00

3 TDS (lumpsum)                                     1200.00

4 Contributory Pension Scheme               3652.17

NET                                                        35056.96

Above part is fixed in all PSB. Other allowances vary bank to bank but on estimate u get mobile bill allowance Rs. 600, newspaper allowance Rs. 200 and Petrol allowance Rs. 3300 (assuming 40 litres), so monthly in-hand becomes    Rs. 39156.96. 

Lease rent allowance also vary bank to bank starting from 15k approx. but it is never given in-hand rather it's tranferred to landlord's account. 

There are many other benefits like quarterly cleaning allowance, yearly mediclaim, mobile purchase allowance once in 3 years, LFC etc.

Few banks have cut down on many allowances due to losses. Like IOB gives only net salary and nothing else during probation.
