Last year result 7 Feb result declared and interview call letter started download from 16. this year also call letter will be available after 15

Congratulations to all the selected candidates. You are just one phase away from securing a job in a public sector bank as an IT officer Scale 1. Many people were having doubts as to how they should start preparation for the interview and the topics to prepare for the interview. I decided to make a post so that it would help people.
Interview can be totally technical( related to IT only), or purely general(relating to core banking operations) or a mix of both.
You can expect questions in your local language as well. Interview will be held in your state capital mostly. For ex, people from Karnataka will have interviews in Bangalore Canara Bank/Vijaya Bank/Syndicate bank. People from MH at bank of Maharashta and people from AP/TS at Andhra Bank, people from Delhi/Haryana/Punjab at PNB and so on.
Initially there will be document verification which is very strict. Make sure you carry all eligible documents(individual marksheets, relieving letters(imp), 10th, 12th, BTech/BE degree certificate, and your call letter). Make sure your degree is eligible to participate(some EEE students were not allowed to sit for interview last year.)
Interview duration varies. Prepare these topics well so that you will have an edge over others:
1)Core Banking solutions(What is CBS?, uses, CBS softwares of participating banks etc)
2) Why banking? Why do you want to switch from private to public sector(for people employed)
3) Functions of Bank(How does bank make money?)
4) What is NPA? How to overcome this problem?
5) Functions of DBA/Role of IT Officer in a bank.
6) Questions relating to present work experience.
7) Cyber security and Intrusion Detection Systems.
8) They may ask your favorite subjects ( so prepare a couple of subjects well, you can choose SQL/Database and Networks which are relatively easier for CS/IT students)
9) Questions on data mining and its usage in banking.
10) General HR questions such as family background, whether you are willing to work anywhere in India and in shifts?
11) Privatization of banks and mergers (important as it is a current topic)

PNB meh joh 120 IT officer scale 1 vacancy aya tha..aur baad meh postponed ho gya h..woh vacancies kya IBPS meh add ho gya h??....kisiko agar kuch pata ho toh share kre.

Since many people are asking about Salary as well, let me put that here too:
Basic : 23700
DA: presently 60.6% of basic which is roughly 14400
City compensatory allowance: 850 for metros
Special allowance: around 2500 per month.
Conveyance: varies from bank to bank generally 1000 per month for POs.
newspaper allowance: around 250 per month
mobile: only for managers(scale 2)
Busines Dev charges : per year around 3000
Medical: around 8000 per year
You will be given quarters if vacant. Else, personal lease of upto 16000(depending on bank for scale 1) will be reimbursed. This is in addition to salary
Leaves: 12 casual + 12 sick (PLs after one year 1 for every 11 working days)
There will be a Bond for all banks. Amount varies generally 1 lakh.
Joining depends on the bank. Usually within 2-3 months after result is announced( Apr 1st is the result date)
Location: For BOI, BOB, UBI - Mumbai
For OBC - Gurgaon
Vijaya bank - Bangalore
Work- you will be alloted a department on joining(depending on your background, prev work exp and interests). Some of the departments - for a rough idea - CBS, Network operations, Digital banking, App dev and maintenance, ATM switch operations, Data center(24/7 operations).

PS: Wage revision is pending from Sep 2017. You can expect a salary hike soon after the issue is settled with government.
