ICICI Business Leadership Programme - Min 3 Yrs Work Ex Required

Hi,with the apprehensions expressed above I'm too in dilemma regarding this ICICI programme.I second concerns regarding NIIT univ.,the industry acceptance of such an MBA degree once we switch our job and lastly committing ourselves to a service agreement lasting around 5 years.(I'd done a similar commitment for 2 years with a reputed IT co. post my B.Tech and trust me this service agreement became a total liability for me!!....case in point utter job dissatisfaction crept in).Though it will be premature to comment on above ifs and buts at this stage but still these remain genuine concerns.

Don't see a point if you want to get back to IT. I assume you have 3 years of experience. Instead of MBA and 3years of Bond period you will have 8 years of exp. With 8 years of exp 5 year down the line will be on same package as what ICICI(or any other bank ) can offer. I feel the hike IT guys get every 2-3 years is much much more than in any other any field.

Experts plz suggest...

Man....at 8 yrs of exp in IT very few people(5-10% ) people are earning 14-15 lakhs+ while most of the people are getting around 10-13 lakhs depending on the worth of a person and the company working for...

abt the Hike...gone are the days in IT when there were hikes of 30-50% EVERY YEAR.. Now i know abt the organisations which gives 10% hike even if the starting package is 2.5 lakhs...though 25K/year hike is not considered good.

But yes one thing to be agreed...if we see on average scale..then you may find IT people earning more than those working in Finance...But the point here is EXCEPTIONS...

Talking purely abt the money at 5-6 yrs(3 -4 yrs current and 2 yrs study) getting 15+ lakhs( as ICICI are committing) is a very decent offer...

hello every1.......i am appearing for gd/pi in delhi on 15th....i am working in state bank as asst manager....and def love to resign if got selected...

Shekhar.. since you have alreayd decided to quit SB and join studies...can you highlight the things which makes the ICICI bank MBA a tempting offer for you ??

It would be nice to know your view point.

well....i hv joined state bank right after my grad and since then i hv been working for the bank at various places and posts. the offer is surely tempting as it will provide me an opportunity to do my mba and to enter into middle management grade...........this program can offer you the growth which is not possible in sbi.

Hi puys....NIIT university is a new one and its not got university accrediation by the central Govt.(as per UGC act,1956).So in future questions can be raised in this issue. It is only affiliated to Govt of Rajasthan.I collected datas regarding the university. No educational institutes/organisation can be declared as university without any UGC certification.I know for a new university getting UGC acrrediation may take time but it havent got any gradation from the NAAC(National Assessment and accreditation Council).UGC and NAAC certification are basic needs for being a university and without all these things the certificate of this university is only a piece of paper. And last but not least is that it is not an ISO-certified organisation....U guys have better experience ,If u will try GMP programme in XLRI or executive management programme in ISB then 15 lakhs package is nothing in comparison to dat.

ICICI experience may be taken into account. But,if u will be disatisfied wth the job then????wat to do????I think the degree will not help....Ok..plz dont take it negatively..Its a matter of discussion.Comments r welcome.Because according to me-Carrerwise be wise and money wise Edelweiss.

I had a time to browse something about NIIT university and got disappointed with the way the information was scattered in their website. I am not sure whether its good or bad, but it was disappointing apparently. @Neel : Do you say that the degree is not going to be valid outside?
Vinodhini85 Says

Excellent srd and vinodhini !! I appreciate it..

Q3: Does the course involve only the faculties of NIIT university or is there any chance that ICICI will be bringing visiting professors to enhance knowledge. To precise, whether the course is being structured to narrow down ICICI requirement or it is going to be generic?

I think ICICI will definitely fly in better faculty apart from the regular faculty...since they are actually investing on the candidates...

Q4 : ICICI has mentioned that the candidates would get MINIMUM 15 lacs as CTC. What is the break-up of this CTC? How much is the variable component?

Q5 : Will the candidates get regular hikes per year for 3 year bond period or the salary during the bond period will be fixed?

Q6 : Will ICICI consider these candidates for inter-departmental transfer (if the candidate wants) after completion of/during bond period?

Q7 : Will these candidates be considered for overseas opportunities after completion of/during bond period?

Q8 : What would be prospects of the candidates in ICICI after completion of bond period in ICICI? Will they be considered for promotions? If yes, will this MBA degree candidates will have an upper hand compared to other MBA degrees candidates in ICICI?

More questions expected.......

Great initiative guys...

it is approved by UGC. But the question should be is this mba degee is equivalent to atleast tier-2 business schools degree?(Lets say institutes under symbiosis umbrilla)

Hi Buddies...

I was following this thread from the beginning but posting here for the first time. All your inputs are truly informative and commendable.
I have my selection process in Bhubaneswar on 14th Feb. ATB to you all.

@ICICI guys as candidates - can you please brief us on the ICICI Management structure. Like the post ICICI is going to offer is Manager Grade II. What are the posts available immediately after Manager Grade II...where does the Chief Manager fits? Also kindly let us know what's the ratio of fixed and variable pay components ICICI usually follows for Middle Management position.

@All- has anybody taken part in case study round before..If yes, can you ellaborate a little on it.

@aspirantch : If it is approved by UGC, its more than enough for now dude... Because the rankings mostly are considered while placements by the recruiters & if we are getting direct placements in ICICI at a salary of 15 Lacs P.A., then for us only education/knowledge matters & not the rankings.... Also, after working in ICICI bank for 3 years, it would hardly matter that from where we had done MBA.... At that time, only the existing salary would be considered for negotiations with new employer.......

But this mba degree icici offering suits only for banking industry and again scope will gets limited to banks ....This is wat i feel
