Kunal, i feel that the fellow had some valid points, but he himself was not sure about the profiles that would be offered to the BLP guys.... and a fellow named Rahul Sharma, who had a similar opinion, has already joined the BLP batch I..... I only have one query or just a thought... If that's the case, why would people from IIM's opt for ICICI, i mean their seniors would have warned them , rite?? If you check for the placement statistics in finance sector, ICICI use to recruit some 300 odd MBA grads from the premier institutes. It's only last year they have stopped this recruitment spree....
So, as told in previous posts by the senior batch fellows, i assume that we wont have the scenario of a retail banking branch..otherwise they would have tasted the flavour during their internship itself...
This is my opinion, after doing my own mini research...

Sanjay..thanks for the reply dude..but I personally feel this is a happy happy scenario. The points that I quote are these:
* The first batch is yet to get placed which will happen in April this year. Am not concerned about the package for the time being, but the profiles on offer as a post grad in B&F; is yet to be seen. Do they place students based on their internal requirement(even if that is in retail banking..) or on the basis of what the students had opted for in their training?
* Coming to the package..its yet to be seen if they consistent packages to all the students or depending on case to case basis.
But all said and done..ur post did give me some hope!!
i think it depends on the individual candidate whether he wants to lock himself into a company and sector before starting MBA. Let's say if somebody goes to IIM A, B or C he may get better job than this or he may not. Again, it depends on what the individual's strategy is
