Hello Puys... Today i attended the GD/PI.... I got the same case study which @Hello_Genius posted... Thanks a lot @Hello_Genius .... GD was simple... GD topic: ABC ltd is a well branded fitness company. Their revenue has been going up for past 5 years at a growth of 15%. The gross profit margin is also growing at a rate of 20%. However, the company's debt level is at 230 crore till last quarter compared to the revenue of 320 cr and a gross profit of 80 crore. The forecast of revenue for next year is 372 crore and gross profit of 95 cr. Company is well established in tier 1 cities. They want to foray into tier 2 citis in India to boost top line and gross margin. They have an investment plan of 123 cr out of which they will raise 75 crore via IPO. For rest amount, they have approached XYZ bank for loan. You are a loan officer. Discuss for the following points 1) What should be the approach/business model you would like to look into for Tier 2 city business? 2) Is a franchise model feasible here? 3) As a loan officer, will you grant a loan here? 4) What will you suggest seeing the current economic scenario for further boosting profit?
But the PI was very tough 😠... They went into the depth of technical stuffs.... Because i preferred to be in IT Management... It went more than 30 mins 😠...Good luck guys... 😃
Hi Guys jus came back after GD & PI.😴
GD was good, the topic was Mantra Fitness company is a well established company & started operation in 2003 in tier 1 city and gradually covered its reach in all tier 1 city. now the company wants to expand further to 30 tier 2 and tier 3 cities in northern India. they have the cash reserve of 12 crore but need more 75 crores for expansion. the growth rate in terms of revenue and profit has been very good in last 3 years. they seem to be very ambitious. The total debt was 170 crores & they are raising 25 crore through equity.
Also data was given regarding the type of services they provide ie gym, personal training, weight loss pgms & dance classes.
They have approached several banks for the loan.
1. will you sanction loan if you r the bank manager?
2. what business model will be good for their business, franchisee model or own brand business model? mention the pros n cons.
3. what are the challenges in this whole episode.
4.What will you suggest seeing the current economic scenario for further boosting profit?
When panelists said start GD, me n 1 more guy were about to start but before that a guy started speaking on top of his voice with some irrelevant point regarding Tier 2 cities & whole discussion went into wrong direction & GD was a mess & panel was irritated 😠. I chipped in while saying we should figure out the problem statement first & then should suggest the measures to counter the problem. Then we all started discussing the problem. I chipped in 4-6 times in GD with relevant points. Then panelists asked qns to ppl who were unable to add points in GD. Also they asked 1 person to provide the summary. In all it was a nice GD & evryone added their views except 1 who started the GD 😍.
Out of 10 ppl 4 were selected.
1 advice : Guys plz start GD only if u have some solid points & can give a constructive direction to GD, in our case the person who started the GD jus said only 1 point in whole GD & he was not selected. hence starting a GD doesnt mean ur selection is guaranteed.
Then started the long wait for PI.....I completed my GD around 1.00 & waited till 5.30 for the PI.
PI started with usual qn tell me abt urself, achievements n all n then got stuck at one qn: Why MBA in finance & banking.
In all PI was for 20-25 mins. Also i was the last person to be interviewed in my group 
Now fingers crossed for result.
Also i confirmed with HR coordinator at center : Today around 120 ppl(12 batches- 10 in each batch) were called for GD (tomorrow 50-60 are called). In all not more than 200 in 2 days.
PS: I got a lot of help from this forum & tried my best to put my experience so as to help others. Still if some one has any qn please post here, Happy to help

In pune, the rejection was very high. Were selecting max 3 people from a group. From one group, there was mass rejections like only 1 out of 10. Dont know how, I got rejected though i initiated. Unlike last time, the GD manager wanted a lot of statistical data. If you say about stastical data, he starts asking questions in between the GD itself. And very rude too. Anyway, all the best guys who get through it. My fate lies in next MBA tests. Have to start preparing harder. :) 🍻

Hi everyone, I cleared the GD and gave my PI today, My PI also went very good, just want to know one thing, when they asked me whether i have been interviewed by ICICI before - "I said yes" as i had cleared the apti n GD last time too.
Can anyone tel me whether i should have hide it from them? does i makes my chances bleak.

I had my GD PI today. The GD went fine and it was the same case of a fitness industry. For some people PI was relatively easier but for some guys it was really grilling. In my case they asked me questions related to my field. Also they were trying to ask questions related to networking and databases which was not my area in IT. I am not sure what the panelists were looking for. All the best guys for your GD/ PIs.

i was given 9 am slot and had fitness wala case study... though I had prepared for it yesterday... i ddnt got thru the GD..

I was at EMPI New Delhi today.Got through the GD.Topic was- Star cinemas want to acquire Galaxy Movies having presence in tier 2 and tier 3 cities.Propose a plan to provide the loan.It was of 20min at max.In my opinion,the moderators were more interested in the thought process rather than the time 4 which everyone spoke.Wait for PI was excruciating as I had to wait for 5 hrs.The same Qs were asked like Why MBA,Why finance,If u r happy with ur current organization why ICICI then.A lot from Resume was asked.But they wrapped up interview in 10 min flat.Don't know why?Waiting for results.Fingered crossed.👍

How may could have attended all over india fro GD?
My GD / PI exp :
Venue : Mumbai
Date : 20th July .
there were total 6 batches , i ws in grp 3 .
GD topic was a familiar one some GYM brand planning to expand in tier -2 , 3 cities ...
GD started on a good note .... bt the discussion soon turned out to be illogical .... i tried to bring back the discussion on the points that were mentioned in the case study .
results were out in 10 mins ... 5 were selected fr next round .
Unexpectedly i was called for PI in another 1/2 hr ( i ws expecting it to be late ) .
Overall PI was good ... went for 20-25 mins . was asked abt my current work profile...major process improvments done so far ..wat next big buzz is expected in BFSi ..... ur thoghts on Cloud Computing Dropbox ...
I asked 1 of the HR's the about the final results ... she told its expected in 2 weeks .

Guys i was gng thru last batches thread, came across the fact that in last 2 batches final result came in a week aftr last PI date...Same manner we can expect result by coming MONDAY 😲😲😲.

At EMPI college New Delhi,the last day ie 20th july numbers crossed 300 for sure. GDs started at 10am 3 at a time in parallel having 10-12 candidates in each GD,they lasted upto 4pm,assuming each GD went for half an hour and deducting 1 hour(Max) lunch break, 5hrs*2*3batches*10candidates=300.This is the minimum count.I wonder how'll we be able to cut in.

this is really sad .. i put forth all ma points .. i summarized pretty well .. i introduced new points/ideas, took discussion back on da track which went with da flow of fish market...still they selected 2 outta 10 out of which 1 guy was quarreling with rest of da 9 and da oda whu got selected was pretty descent ... rejection ration is high ... if GD ppl r giving 1 minute each to put forth ur points then he shud watch the time and refrain from cutting down ppl before 1 min gets over! HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE ACT

I am interested in this program and willing to take it up .Could any one guide me when we can expect results they said 15 days from date of GD PI. that means 1 week of August or may be later ?
