Overall 51 but GK 0.65 what are my chances?
Hi guys.. I heard that for NMIMS 225 + is a sure shot convert..What about IIFT?? can we predict any score like that .for OBC also??

What I have written below is based on the statistical data and the excruciating wait for the results that I have gone through over the past few years. For the sake of simplicity let's just consider the IIFT paper last year. Most of the coaching institutes had put in estimated overall cut offs at around 40-44. As for GK the estimated cut offs varied from 2.5-4. Now that you know the last year cut offs were 38.5 and 2.49, it would be safe to say that the coaching institutes always quote a higher value than the actual cut offs. This fact could be proved by randomly taking up any competitive exam which you have attempted till now and then checking the estimated and actual cut offs. Yes, I mean any exam (IIT-JEE, AIEEE, CAT, XAT, IBPS, etc.). This year the estimated cut offs are around 43-48 and 1.5-3. So, it would be safe to assume that the actual cut offs would probably be around 41-42 and 1.5-2.5 OA and GK respectively. So people above 43 overall and 2.5 in GK sit back and chill.
Last year I knew I was a border line case in GK. After counting my scores and checking the cut offs I was so frustrated that I threw the question paper away. But then you always have hope and pray to god for lesser sectional cut offs. Hopefully I did clear by scoring 2.5 and the cut off was 2.49 (estimated 2.5-4). Never lose hope! So, those around 39-43 overall and 1.5-2.5 in GK can't really do anything, you have to wait it out. Anyways apart from that, there are always a few questions which are ambiguous in nature or you might feel are somewhat or totally incorrect. Now taking into account the scores of a lot of people I know I can say that people who have attempted these questions usually get the marks for that question. My actual overall score was more than that as per the answers of any coaching institute. The same happened with a few of my friends as well. Although I can't say for sure that this is what happens but the general trend says so.
As for the people getting disheartened by looking at 60+ scores over here. Don't
think about such people. These guys and their scores have no correlation with
your chances at IIFT. They will either join ABC or attempt again next year. Always
keep in mind that a majority of the people who post here regularly are those
who have been getting an AIR of less than 50 in all the AIMCATs. Many of them
had 99+ last year as well. Technically, logically or whichever way you would
like to think, you are not competing with these people. I could again prove my
point by putting in relevant facts and data but let's keep that discussion for
some other day. Please continue working and ATB for CAT!
