This Sunday, at IIFT Delhi.

Hey everyone!

Congrats on getting the interview calls. I am a PGP-2 student from IIM Ahmedabad, went through this process 2 years back. If any of you need help in preparation for interviews, please feel free to message me.

Hello Admins Could you tell me what is the planned intake of students this year for MBA program for Delhi and Kolkata campus? Also is Kakinada campus going to start this year?

IIFT GD, WAT PI Experience: 3rd Feb, 2020 in Hyderabad

WAT - Is life black and white?

GD-  Work force diversity: fad or necessity

Profile: GEM, 81/72/71 with 18 months IT Workex and Electrical Engineering background.

PI:

Panel of two, a very pleasant lady (L) around 40 and a gentleman bhodrolok (M, Bengali) around 45.

Both of them smiled at me as I came in.

L: So what are they saying about the panel outside?

Me: They are saying that it is a nice panel and you are asking questions along the lines the interviewee is mentioning. And that you are trying to get a preference out of us about what job we are looking at after MBA.

M (speaking to L): They must also be learning talking about the Why MBA.

L (speaking to me): But now everybody has been coached for that question isnt't it?

Me: Ma'am I think some may be getting coached for that question in the ten minutes before their interview. I am sure you will find out who that was when you ask.

Both of them smiled wide at this and shared a look. Think that set the tone. Easy questions for the rest of it. I am listing only the questions here because my responses would get tedious. If you need an answer to a specific question, I can tell you that.

M: What is the meaning of your name?

L(continuation to the previous question): So who is your idol? (Big Wengz)

L: What did you learn from him?

L: How do you know Gujarati?

M: Tell us about your work and what you do.

L: So what did you learn there?

M: How many months in Hyderabad? Do you like it?

L: Tell me something which is not in your CV.

L: We know Bengal produces some of the best minds in the country (smiles at me), but why  doesn't it have large scale industry? Analyse this for me.

M: What are your hobbies?

L : What genre of books do you read?

L: Why do you read so much Economics?

L: Can you tell me what work specifically Amartya Sen won the Nobel Prize for?

L: All the people you read criticise the Government's economic policies a lot. What is your take on them?

M: How do you explain the flip flop from Electrical to IT to International Trade?

M: What are the qualities required of an MBA candidate to succeed?

L: I think we are done. Thank you.

They were smiling throughout, but in response to answers and not at me (I think). Good start to the season. Hope this helps people who were looking for pointers.
