Is the 20000 given by wait listed candidates for iift K being returned on withdrawing from the admission process?
ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO CONVERTED IIFT DELHI
We are in a fix at the moment and the AO at IIFT is not able to help. Many of us have left our job and others need to book tickets but we don't have any idea as on date. We have very few days to decide now and the only people who can help us right now are you. With just 2 questions to answer we request you to please spare 10 seconds and fill this. Please don't go by rumors and hearsay, some facts about IIFT-K:
1. IIFT K has its fully operational campus (area and infrastructure wise bigger than Delhi) and classes for both the batches ( 1st and 2nd years') are held there. You can have a look at

In IIFT-K, the students get individual rooms to stay at, while in Delhi campus one needs to share rooms.
2. IIFT-K students have continuously (for the past 7 years) topped IIFT merit lists after two years of MBA.There is NO and absolutely no discrimination at all. The gold medallists are continuously from the Kolkata campus.
3. People who are saying that IIFT does not place the whole batch, please have a look at the following official list of ALL the students from the 2014-16 batch and their respective placements:

4. There is NO difference in the packages offered to students of the two campuses. Both summer and final placements of both the campuses are held in unison.
5. There is no median, average package specifically released for Kolkata students. IIFT-D and IIFT-K have a single placement team for both campuses together.
6. The curriculum is same for both campuses and Kolkata faculties fly to Delhi and vice-versa.Check the website.
7. The batch size of IIFT at present is around 260 (Delhi -160 and Kolkata- 100), which is much smaller compared to other B-schools.
8. The final graduation certificate does not mention any campus specifically, it reads that the student has successfully completed MBA (IB) from "Indian Institute of Foreign Trade".

Dear seniors/iift alumni,
there is increasing confusion about the discrimination towards IIFT-k students in placements. Although current & ex-students of IIFT-k has said such allegations are false..but still one doubt that students review are biased for best interest of college...
even when contacted personally in FB, some of u guys are leaning away or are not replying about such issues.I am not saying that allegations are true, but i do doubt it.
I request all of u to com 4ward & honestly talk about such issues. Its life of 100+ students at stake. Being from a low income family, i am concerned about the kind of placement i can get particularly salary.
This kind of negativity regarding iift-k in terms of opportunities and ppo's is forcing me to drop k . Maybe i am being the naive guy here and playing into the hands of those rogue elements who are trying to malign the institute or trying to move up the waitlist. But , time and again i am thinking whether i am ready to take such a huge risk which may decide the rest of my life.
