You must be contemplating about joining IIFT Delhi or Kolkata campus. A day before yesterday one of my cousin asked me the same question and it thought it would be a really important for everyone out there to know about the similarities and differences.
I passed out the IIFT Kolkata 2 years ago and I have lived that life, so would like to give you a clear picture about it as I want everyone to take a prudent decision and doesn’t fall into what a general picture is.
1. Academics : Both Delhi and Kolkata has the same curriculum so there is no difference between the curriculum and some of the teachers teaching there are same as well. Except for the fact that in Delhi, strength of students is more So for 2nd year when you have to choose specialization some of the subjects doesn’t open as a major in Kolkata as the number of students opting for it is less so no point of running a course which only 10-15 students are interested in which is not the case for Delhi.
However general subjects are opened for majors: Finance, Marketing, minor in trade and strategy
2. College life: Life in Delhi is more vibrant and lively as compared to Kolkata, as its location is great in Delhi however Kolkata as a city is more dull and so the campus life is. There are more restrictions pertaining to college entry time as compared to Delhi however a lot of cultural activities happens time to time and Kolkata guys also party in clubs and pubs but if you have lived in Bangalore, Delhi , Mumbai than you won’t like it.
3. Students Quality: its some what similar, Kolkata students are at par with Delhi students in terms of caliber and knowledge. Kolkata students works more hard and win more corporate competitions.
4. Placements: Its true that Kolkata people get some of the best opportunity in some of the best firms in different domains however there are some companies which does not allow Kolkata students for the processes but placement committee works hard towards opening them for Kolkata students as well.
I think students should know this before hand to make a prudent decision. Kindly refer to the following details:

1. HUL : Doesn’t come to college however opens a competition only for Delhi students and students who cracks it get a chance to win a summer internship
ITC, Marico, Dabur,Baja Auto,
Finance: RPG, GE ,Axis Bank ,CRISIL
General Management : Mahindra and Mahindra
Apart from these other companies allow Kolkata students and treat them equally.
Some of the firms whos CTC are great and allow Kolkata students are : Godrej, Vodafone, Airtel, Goldman Sach, DBS, Citibank , Yes bank, Gep , BCC and a lot more.
Now you have to take the decision. There are ample opportunities in both the campuses and IIFT as a whole having small batch size has lot of advantages over NMIMS and other colleges.
