Any idea what was last year's essay topic ?
Essay topics are in guys ! Good Luck !
Hello dear puys. As I upload the documents required to be submitted before the interview, I am a bit unclear about how the 1-page resume should be. I have 7+ years of experience and my current resume is 2 pages long.
In a small space of 1 page, what is the adcom looking for? Work ex and achievements? Isn't that what we have already specified in our applications? Or are they looking to see how we clevely condense several years of experience in a small space?
Inputs from current/past PGPX class members would be especially helpful. (@aniruddha.ms)
So the essay topics are out! Just about a week to work on them. While the questions do look a bit different from most other schools, but the purpose remains the same - to understand your leadership style and how you deal with challenges. Here are our two cents on the questions:
Ethics Question: Ethics being challenged isn't always about corruption or bribery. Not all of us face such situations at work. It's anything to do with a situaion where your integrity was at question or where you had an enticement to act against your principles. Focus on what you did you overcome the challenge and your logic behind it. Remember, there is no right or wrong. It's all about how you present it.
Failure Question: For any B-school essay, do not measure a failure or success by the result alone. There are times when the result is all very normal, but you handle such challenges to achieve the required result that it becomes nothing less than an 'achievement' for you. Similarly, for your failure situation, even having achieved the desired results, you may have failed to meet the expectations you set for yourself or just feel that you could have done better. Think well and you will get several such instances.
All the Best!

When in Nov can we expect the interviews? Are interviews held only over the weekend? Lastly, for Bangalore is the interview venue IIMB campus?
Hi, I plan to apply for Round 2 - would be grateful if someone could do a quick review of my profile and answer a couple of queries. I took GMAT earlier this week and scored a 720. I am a chartered accountant by profession (with the institute in England and Wales) and am currently employed with a big 4's offshore consulting practice. Experience is 6+ years including 4 years spent in the UK on front end audits and advisory projects. I have a bachelors degree in commerce (hons) from delhi university with a first division, and 10th and 12th overalls are 88% and 86% respectively. My queries are: - I had earlier booked a second attempt for GMAT for 12th nov - is 720 enough with my profile or should i attempt again to improve my selection chances? - I have limited extra curricular at regional / national level ; my involvement with such activities was limited to college/university & school level. Is it ok to only met ion these on my application? also, will this be a major drawback? Thanks in advance, Aashi
Interview dates are out, mine is on 20th Nov 1:30 at IIMA campus.
Does IIM-A never asks for Letters of Recommendations ? Or am I missing anything ?
Any idea what to carry at interview? Going bare hand is ok or shall we carry all documents such as educational certificate, work experience certificate, and international experience proof.
Hi, What all things are we supposed to enter in the one page resume that has been asked? is IIMA looking for anything specific that is not covered already in the submitted application?
I am cautious to not enter duplicate information in the resume which is already present in my application, but it leaves very less original content to be written.
Those who have completed the resume or students from the current batch, care to comment please?
Hi,
I am planning to apply for IIMA PGPX round 2.
It would be helpful if someone can explain the process for application?
Based on the discussion chain below, it looks like, after submitting the online application, we need to submit some essays.
Is everyone asked to submit essay or only shortlisted candidates are asked to submit.
Based on what criterias does IIMA filter the applications for interview process?
Does anybody has any idea of the selection/rejection ratio ? How many applied in R1 and out of that how many were shortlisted for interview ? And finally, out of those who were shortlisted were interview, how many will get an admit ?
Anybody attended the information session yesterday in Pune?
For the failure essay, would it be preferable to write about a failure in your professional role as compared to writing about a personal failure ?
Puys, One query - The shortlist note mentions to submit the PDF resume online. But i do not find any button to submit the resume. So does that mean only Upload ?

Hi, has anybody availed the services of GoCrackIt for resume review or mock interview?
In the essay submission page, there is only one button for save and submit. Does it mean that I cannot save the draft version of the essays first and then submit it? Writing out 1000 words at a stretch is tedious :(.
Also, if I submit it once can I edit it before the deadline?
