Hi please someone clear my doubt. When I called IIM Lucknow to ask my merit rank, I got the following reply: General rank 517 Open category rank 558 What is the difference between the two?
I just called admission office and they told me that I didn't get the minimum passing marks (12 marks) in WAT-PI. I had a PGP ABM call and I though my interview went just fine (at least it didn't deserve Less than 12 marks) Maybe I'm unable to judge myself at this point of time but if anyone can provide me any inputs on my interview which I'm posting below and tell me whether it really deserved less than 12 marks Profile: GEM Fresher 10/12/B.tech(one of the top 3 NITs) : 91.2/91/7.55 CAT: 99.66 Venue: IIM Lucknow Date: 29/03/18 1pm slot WAT (15 minutes, 300 words): Why Make in India if we can buy the same product at cheaper rate from China Personal Interview (One Male M, One female F): F: tell me something about yourself. Me: (Finally after 6 different interviews got the chance to introduce myself) Told about my Btech My two interships M: *interrupts* Tell me about your internship at Singapore. Me: Told about the topic and my aim M: So how did you do the work? Me: Told about reading and analysing the research papers. My works and about guidance by the professor. M: So currently there are lot of initiatives government of india is taking like make in india, Swachya Bharat Abhiyan, tell me 10 more. Me: Told about diksha portal, Hortinet, Yuva,Digital Police portal, Digital India. M: No no tell the big ones. Me: Explained a little bit more about Yuva and Hortinet. Tried to drive it towards agri business sector. M: *Seems bit convinced* So are you placed ? Me: Told M: Which company ? Me: Told M: So tell me something. Here most of the MBAs want high paying jobs yet you opted for agri business sector. Is it like this that you want any of the course without interest? Me: No Sir. I think that there is a boom which is yet to come in Agri business sector and I think it's a very good career option seeing the interest of Indian Government particularly in this sector. M: People have been talking about this boom since decades but it hasn't yet come. Me: It will come for sure Sir because there is a separation between farmers and industry and I think they have to merge together to power up this sector and I think it has a lot of potential. M: But Government things are not working right ? Me: No Sir. If you talk about make in india and this year budgets you'll see a lot of importance is given to agriculture. M: So how will you define agriculture ? What can you get from agriculture ? Me: Wheat rice bajra sugarcane potato tomato. M: Anything else ? Me: wood M: Wood ? We get wood from agriculture. Me: I think sir whichever things can be extracted from land comes under agriculture sector. M : So you mean mining is also agriculture ? Me: No Sir mining is not agriculture. M: But that's what you said. F: Yes you told the same. Me: *Realised I did a mistake* I'm sorry it was a mistake on my side. I want to refine it. Anything which can be produced from land comes under agriculture . M: *seemed okayish* So you want to work for HUL and ITC (I mentioned it in the form) but this doesn't seems like you want to work for farmers. You want to work for industry right ? Me: Yes Sir I want to work for industry because as I said to benefit the farmers to make this sector work we have to narrow down the gap between the farmers and the industry. M: Okay. Tell me about your extracurriculars . Me: Told about interests in Cricket. M: You watch or you play ? Me: I watch sir. M: So you're a passive follower. Me: No Sir. I love the game and I watch and analyse it actively. M: Okay. Tell me more about extracurriculars. Me: Told about students council elections, branch association, security In charge and literary and debating club. M : So you write ? Me:Yes Sir I write sometimes M: But you don't have anything to show us ? Me: I have Sir. I write parody dialogues and short hindi and English rhymes. M: Okay . That's it from our side. Thank you very much Me: Thanks Ma'am. Thanks Sir. Walks out the door. After exiting I realised that they didn't ask me to sign on the personal data form which I had to sign. Entered again. Me: Sir I think I forgot to sign on the pi form. F: Ohh yes yes come in come in. We're very sorry it's our responsibility but you came. Very good. We are very sorry. *While I was signing the document* M: We too are nervous F: Yeah even more than you. Me: *smiling* It's okay Ma'am. No problem. * I again got up* F: Thank you very much. All the very best. Me: Thank you Ma'am. Thank you Sir. *Left with a smile*
Rank 529 , Is there any chance for PGP?
Some analysis done be me, Please read below:
As per last year threads , Merit Rank (Open Category) till 460 converted in second Offer list which was released around (10 May, 2017). And then there were minor movements in third, forth list. Then a major movement was after 15 th june (last date of withdrawal) and the last person to get selected had 531 open category merit rank.
Same, is happening this year too. Merit Rank (open category) till 500 selected in second offer (11 May,2018) . Then there are minor movements. A major movement will happen after 15 June and I think the merit rank for the last person this year can go till 575-580.
Can anyone , who converted abm in the second list , share their CS or merit rank?
Can we know our merit rank by calling the AO office??
Anybody who got 90 - 92 percentage in class 12 CBSE exam. How much score has been awared for 12 th class out of 10 ?
I just received my rti by post, its mentioned that my final score is 43.85 and merit rank in 467 in obc category, and i have also asked last year final score of last selected candidate - for that its mentioned that last candidate selected under obc in 2017-19 had a final score of 43.95 and his merit rank was 346........
if 2017-19, AND 2018-20 IIM Lpgp policy is same, then how can be there so less difference in final score , with final score of 43.85, this year i have merit rank 467, and with final score of 43.95,someone had merit rank 346 last year
I accepted the offer for PGPSM and if I am in the merit list for PGP in upcoming list. Will I be able to switch?

Steps to know the rank and other details of IIM-L Admission process: Step-1 Keep following information handy: CAT Reg No; Name; Category; Graduation degree; DoB; Aadhaar No; Percentile of VARC, DILR, QA & Total; Registered Mobile for OTP verification. Step-2 Call 0522 6696683 and ask for the information on IIM-L Admission process ranks. Step-3 Correctly answer each question asked for verification. Step-4 After successful verification, ask anything you want to know about your rank or marks in admission process and note it down.
