Hello ISB aspirants,We are a group of a few ISB alumni. All of us belonged to PSU/ manufacturing sector (pre-ISB) and have successfully made into diverse industries post ISB. We have been randomly helping candidates by reviewing their applications. Some of us have been part of internal ISB students team, which reviews the applications of aspirants applying to ISB. Some of us have also been in the interview panel and have interviewed candidates in the first round. With a purpose of helping the student fraternity & to better organize our effort, we have decided to review 20 Applications for R2 ending 15 Jan 2018. We will extend this service FREE OF COST.
The sole purpose is to help candidates and ensure that deserving candidates get into ISB. It's an attempt to give back to the fraternity from which we ourselves have gained and are continuously gaining.

Hello Everyone. Finally! happy to share with you that my admission to ISB's class of 2020 through Early Entry is confirmed :) Result was declared on 1st Jan'18. Any other EEO candidate who had received late interview invite but finally made it to ISB? What is the deadline to pay the non-refundable fee? Nothing is written in the email sent to me.

Can anyone share information regarding the recommendation? Evaluator would get an online link to submit or upload document with the recommendation?

Can someone please confirm if ISB is asking for 1 recommendation or 2. I added 1 in the application and dont see any space to add another one. I dont know,  somehow I recall that it needed 2. May be my imagination.

When adding graduation details under "Education Details", its asking to "Upload certificates" and "Upload marksheets". Anyone knows what exactly the certificates are? The degree?

The ISB site says that we must enter the work experience in reverse chronological order ir "last job first". So I entered the details for my latest job and then backwards. Now am really confused because on the preview screen it is showing my latest job as the last entry and my first internship right on the top. Is this how its supposed to be? Can someone please guide me?

ISB's Recommendation Advice


There have been so many questions about ISB's recommendations over the past few days. We are posting our advice to all applicants, which they could share with their recomemnders. 



  Q1.Please provide a brief description of your interaction with the applicant and if applicable, applicants role in your organization. (Maximum word count: 50 words) 

Ø How long have you known the applicant and in what capacity have you known her/ him? 

Ø Brief description of applicant’s role in your organization

 Ø How often do you interact with the applicant? 


Q2. How does applicant’s performance compare to that of other well-qualified individuals in similar roles? Please provide specific example (Eg what are the applicants principal strengths) . (Maximum word count: 500 words) 

Ø Give a brief overview of the applicant’s performance. 

Ø On what criteria would you rate her performance better than her peers’ and why? Pick 2-4 of the applicant’s qualities where she is better than her peers. 

 Ø Give examples to support each quality that you mention. Give the situation, the challenges, the actions taken by the applicant and the results achieved  


Q3. Describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant’s response. . (Maximum word count: 500 words)  

 Ø A constructive feedback is one which helps the applicant improve.  

Ø However, the applicant must be open to receiving feedback and improving herself, in order for it to be constructive. 

Ø Narrate an incident, where the applicant, with her best intentions, did something wrong, or had a weakness which you pointed out to her.

 Ø How did she react to the feedback you shared with her? What was your feedback? 

Ø What actions did she take to correct herself? 

Ø How did she improve after working upon the feedback? 

Ø You could quote another example to show how she performed in a similar situation after she worked upon your feedback   


Q4. Is there anything else we should know? 

Is there anything else you can add about the applicant? This could be about applicant's leadership potential; why an MBA makes sense given the applicants’ goals;  career goals that need an explanation and endorsement;  If there is some weakness in the applicant’s profile, and its pertinent for the recommender to address it ( you will not know about her college grades or life before she joined your organization, so use your judgment here

Till what year gre score are eligible and considered for the admission to ISB ? And what is the cut-off for the same?

Is there a limit on the number of entries one can make for Extra-curricular? I've made 6 entries after which the option for Add Extracurricular is no longer there.

Does ISB consider AWA scores for shortlisting? 

I have just started my preparation. I went through the PGP FAQs which say that IR is not considered but nothing is said about AWA. If AWA is considered, what is considered as a good score?

Guys.. what are your views about moving into business strategy roles after 8+ years of IT experience? How easy or difficult is it to get into those roles after completing EPGP/PGPX or PGP from ISB?
