i am a btech (it)student...completing it in 2011....i came to the site facing the iim vs ias dilemma and read a nice post.however i am in urgent need of some guidance in my context...my details are:
>my date of birth is 8feb 1990...so i have time in my hand......
>i live in noida(ncr) so i have resources available
>i am chasing a childhood dream of doing something big....i didnt attempt the iit as i never systematically prepared fr it and concentrated on boards only(i got 92%)....infact i was still in a dilemma then to choose bio(be a doctor) or engg(be a engineer)....i just followed the crowd and took pcmb
...i neither attempted pmt nor iits ....and still regretting it
>now i have decided to choose b/w the two-iim or ias/ips/civil services.
considering the factor-how easy it is to crack?vs how much worth it is put in the labour??plz someone advice me...i want to start preparing now..so plz guide me...i will be extremenly thankful....my email address:[email protected]

yesterday i gave my gmat and got a score of 640.I'm aiming for a one yr mba from canada ,so its seems decent enuff.I'm applying for hec,montreal;sauders,ubc;mcgill;simon fraser bur really dont know much about it.i'm eager to take addmissions this sept...any suggestions plzzz...
hello friends i m a newbie on pagal guy ..i have been trying to get my mind set on which colleges to apply for mba but so confused i like all colleges..
abt me... i have done my bachelors in B.pharma from MIT pune got 59.86%...gave snap 2009 got 41.15 marks out of 180..doesn.t seem gud enugh ..if you can help me know if i can be eligible for any colleges in symbi..may be SIHS i guess....i m also preparing for nmat,mat,atma and cet ..if u can tell which all colleges are good for me like i have intrest in markerting..,pharma????? don't know much abt the cut offs and packages i m totally confused if can help that will be of greatest use for me

640 in GMAT is a good score, best b school in canada are york university, wilfred laurier, queen's university, mcgill, mcmaster..

i think you should be able to clear the cut off for SIBM... SCMHRD usually gives profile based calls, however your score is quite good... last year SIBM cut off was about 75 or 78 i think....though this year the cut offs are likely to go up........
for GD/PI keep urself up to date with current affairs, last year I had attended both the institute's GD/PIs, SCMHRD was quite a thorough affair, and they really test you to find your potential.... SIBM was good too, they had a GD round, a Group task and then the PI.....

Lot of times.... we all are in dilemma, not because we are not capable, but because not all of us can reach IIM's
The best thing you can do is to opt for the college that is not just another profit making bschool run by non professionals, and u ll be surprised there are colleges which offers scholarship to the candidates who scored 90% or more in MAT.
Important is having all the info before taking a decision, on parameters which are most relevant. e.g who is behind a given b school.
