Hi All,

I am Prerna Goel, I have done my B.Tech in IT.
I have around 4.5 yrs of experience in IT industry.

I have joined PagalGuy , as I heard a lot about it from my friends specially from MBA aspirants.

My target is too appear for GMAT in next 6-8 months. and I know Pagalguy and its members will prove to be a great help.

I am aspiring for executive MBA from India.

Im Orijit.....im an engg. workin with Larsen n Toubro...and am a pass out of 2k9 batch( Birla insti. of technology, mesra,ranchi).....after having closely followed certain discussions on various threads i have a very imp. q n wud b gr8 if nybudy cud help m out wid it...........

im a bit concerned bout the acads criteria adopted by the best b schools n primarily the iim's........

my 10th marks=87.2%
12th= 71%
engg. graduation= 84%

apart frm dese i have a decent amount of xtra cirricular stuff........i mean i have won in debates, extempos n elocutions at city, district n state level...have been in my school n college cricket teams....have been captain in school frm std 9th to 12th n hv been recognised as well n hv also been actve in dramatics club, karate n event organization in college.........

my work x comin oct wud be 16 months....n by joinin some college wud be round 22 months.....n im in a core sector i.e im a production engg...

so im plannin 2 tk my cat in 2010.....so coupled with a good percentile.....do i stand a fair chance for IIM's???????

studying in I year of my mechanical engineering. ( I sem to be precise )

Didn't have such an academic record to brag about.. but ya i desperately want to clear CAT.. and tat at any cost... hope i'll get good guidance from all the CAT GODS from here..

one question:- when should we start prep. for CAT? what are the steps? didn't have any idea of it?

welcome to the world of PAGALS....

here everyone comes with a aim of cracking CAT so thats nothing new...
as far as ideal time to start prep is concerned so let me tel u one thing..

ideally 6 months serious preparation is more than sufficient to crack cat...
as u r doing ENGG so u should start preparing at the end of 3rd year...

u may join some coaching for the prep...read newspaper...improve ur vocabulary...and be well verse with the maths basics(till class X)....just go thru previous year papers n u will get the idea of the paper....

and yet sihs gdpi is due,,but i came to knew dt sihs 1st batch starte 4rm 2007....
so wl it be worthful.............

I have heard tat school academics are also important for an IIM call....

mine are

class 10:- 82% ( state board )
class 12:- 66% (" " " ")
undergrads:-still studyin..

so do u think, i have any chances to get any call from the BIGGIES

ur class XII score me create a problem for u coz they go for acads...
but if u have the capabilities and if u are able to defend ur low score then u may get a chance...first of all try to get good score in CAT...

and perform well in ur graduation...try to score high.....
