Introduce Yourself - II

Hi Fellas,
My name is Mukesh Gulia and I plan to give GMAT="tea"> in near future. I am working for TCS since 2 years and feels my career needs a boost.
At pagalguy, I look forward to how-what-why-when of GMAT Preprations and current selection trends at top colleges.

i am currently studying in final year, mechanical engg@ NIT Allahabad.
I want to go for an MBA in the future.
Could ne1 guide me as to which of the two sectors-PSU(IOCL,NTPC,BHEL,GAIL,ONGC etc) and IT(TCS,Infy etc) would be better to join from college campus placement (keeping in mind future MBA prep while working in one of the two sectors???

IMO,Join PSU.
Workload will be less than IT sector..so u could prepare wid more concentration.
A Psu job will add more to your profile.
The only negative point is that
at IT sector you will find more number of your colleagues preparing for mba,but at psu,it will be less..
But if you can cope wid that then psu's are okay.

Hey all,

I'm a new pagal at pagalguy.

My to-date work ex include a past tech analyst role in USA, and a present SAP consultant job in India.

I would like to have a change of career. I am interested in Marketing.

Also, after my bad experience with USA (mainly due to peak of recession), I am looking at the options I can get in Canada.

I hope to find all my answers here on the forum, mostly related to jobs after MBA and ease of stay (visas/permits) in different countries.

Kindly reply me, I've a week time to decide... I need to know about its faculties and the way they train the students, moreover about the degree from UNVA..... So please tell about that B-School....

join a coaching or a mock test series.start brushing your quants, di and verbal skills..
For quants buy some standard book like arun sharma or arihant..for practice
for di/lr do as much practice as you can..
For va/rc try to read as much as possible.start building your vocabulary also.u can start with norman lewis for vocab.

Analyse your mocks very religiously. Your preparation will be right on target

most famous exams are
CAT
XAT
IIFT
SNAP
FMS
JMET
IRMA
TISS
MHCET

Hi,

1 year won't effect much if you can get a good score in cat and satisfy the shortlist criteria of b-schools... Also, if asked in gdpi, you need to mention the appropiate reason to justify the year drop 😃

There have been many people who despite year's drop, got into coveted b-schools.

As far as pg rules are concerned , you can become familiar to features of pg by going through guide

for di,everyone on earth will suggest 'practice'
try to solve 5-7 sets daily..if u are not able to solve at start, devote as much time on a single set.you will definitely find some clues..and slowly slowly you wl build in confidence..
Di just requires some mind exercises, you needn't be a expert at concepts..
Start with easier sets and slowly move towards tougher ones..
Practising it daily can make it your golden hen rather than achile's heel..
