So nice to hear that.. I'll anticipate ur reply.. Thanks a lot
so aravind is already here well all u aspirants take this guy very seriously cos
1. he is like nokia connecting people
2. he is a great person to b with that's y he is one of my greatest friend
on a more serious note i too will try to keep informin u bout the latest dev. processes regarding admissions and wud advise u to keep putting in the hard work as this is the last leg of prep and if u guys have taken the cat prep seriously then irma test wud b a cakewalk just watchout 4 the gk section for which i have mentioned in the rlr post that the ques are more inference based rather than pure quiz ques with a,b,c,d options so read as much as u can it will all come handy.
and ppl as i browsed thru the rlr posts i found a lot of queries regarding placements if u want to know how many placement opportunities exist for the rural managers then do check out the following site
i hope this site will appease alot of ur queires regarding the placement goldmines that u guys wud b sittin on aftr u graduate and on a general note the rural sector is one of the fastest growing sector also with a lot of focus on this sector in diff govt' policies and plans the corporates are also lining up to recruit ppl eager to work in this sector
rest later for any other queries feel free to mail me at [email protected] i will try to be of all the halp i can be.
Thanx Ashish for letting us foresee the placement opportunities thro the web site! I spoke to ur friend Arvind, a couple of days back and he is very friendly and cordial as u said!

by now lots of gyan has passed... i am essentially not going to answer to queries regaradin 1. how to get into IRMA and 2. about the process that will take place after 2 years, namely, The Placements.
I am here to tell you that how IRMA is different from other institutes. Before i do that let me tell you that here in IRMA you gut alpha-grade Management education. yes dont worry about the rural context. In plain terms you get to know what management is. you dont become a development worker but a development manager. the key word is manager. you would be put through roigorous class room sessions. Deadlines will haunt you. And staying awake till 4 in the morining will become a norm(some gud managers of time are able to avoid that). So dnt worry you will go out as a manager from IRMA.
But the most important thing that IRMA will give you is the perspective. The way to look at world would surely change. Its this thing that i would call the IRMA-perspective which would distinguish you from mere managers.
the way you would look at life will surely change....I can bet on that..
you need heart of gold to work at the grass root level.
but then i would like you to define the terms development and grass-root yourself.
Just as a ship needs a navigator to stay on course, u will have IRMA to stay on course to your dreams. Hey dnt forget you are the captain afterall you define the destination. but no matter which destination you choose, your time in IRMA will always help you to stay on course.
but if fat salaries is what you dream than i would politely state give IRMA a miss. Not beacuse you dnt get that kind of money here, but because IRMA is a place for the kinds who have a spark within them, and who can eventually go on and set the rural heartlands of the world on fire.
Hey Friend! Thank you so much for ur explanation! Ship and Captain example is good! As u said the keyword "Manager" makes the difference. The more information you people give about IRMA the more enthusiastic V become to get in to IRMA!
Its high time i need 2 jump in! yeah i kno ...the season is back....the season of apprehensions...where 2 apply...will i get thru!....how is tht place....etc! kewl... worry not... some of the most resourcefull ppl on board IRMA at the moment r here 2 help u out!:)
first of all tone down ur fears abt the "Issues...." part... trust me... I had not read any of those tht scorpio has posted....(I am in IRMA now!) tht does NOT mean YOU will not go thu it... make sure u read the newspaper and watch out for relevant news....giv Page3 a brk... Try goin thru any Year Book...jst browse ....dont mug up ...it wont help ....jst try gettin an idea...becoz a lot of questions will b inference based.... for those preparin 4 CAT etc....othr sections shd b cakewalk.... but dont b 2 assured IRMA knows where it hurts and hits u there!!:)
and yes...DO NOT come 2 IRMA wid a salary package in mind....come 2 IRMA wid a suitable job profile in mind....IRMAns dont run after money....but couple of yrs down the line... money runs after IRMAns!....if they r willin 2 take it...
Rural and Development r two of biggest things happening arnd NOW! So think...set ur priorities right....Get Real!
and u can b very normal and yet study at IRMA!!!!
Take care PRM 27!
welcome buddy
u have surely touched upon the right things... there is a thing about IRMA ... u would find that most of the batch comprises of down to earth fellas... very helpful... and very culturally diverse..... you would always get a good dose of sambahr with chokha of bihar..... so be ready to enjoi the flavours of INDIA and yeah go arnd the country during your fws/ots/mts.... the exposure u get here is something great..... you may get to go and work abroad... but have you ever thought of stayin in a small village for 2 months, "in rome do as romans do" and u will get the idea how ur stay would be like..... its exciting ......... and in case u find it difficult to live wthout AC, then boy oh boy how much u would like not to come to IRMA........ for the rest the game is on.... read about milk, co-ops,per day intake of milk etc such sought of questions..... and dnt trust the material provided by CL atleast i found the GK section a shocker.....

Hey guys u see what ever My batchmate and the alumni has said. That reflects what IRMA is. I also believe IRMA is a institute with a difference. Here we are taught that we are not saviours but we r just Facilitators. We wre taught to see things from a perspective which no other B-school grad can ever drem of. I am very proud to be associated with such a institute. So guys decide wisely and choose IRMA only when u r ready to take up the challenges of your life time as well as have the best days of your life on campus as well as Off-Campus. So get ready to taste the Flavours of india if u still want to get into IRMA. Hope all of our batch as well as the alumni who has posted have cleared u on what IRMA's mission is and what it wud help u in achieveing. C ya.
I have taken the application form from IRMA itself and for that I have paid DD for Rs.100 in favour of "INSTITUTE OF RURAL MANAGEMENT" payable at Anand. So I believe U can follow the same to take DD for Rs.500

Yes! Most propably there wont be any change in timings! bcoz even last year there was similar clash b/w IRMA and some other institute and nothing happened. Its U who will have to decide whether U wanna go for Foreign management or Indian Management.
