ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

1. I am uploading my salary slip for October 2012.
However for calculating gross salary per annum and CTC per annum, I am using last financial year's Form 16 (IT)? Is it fine?

2. My company doesn't issue CTC statement, how to justify the CTC figure later on?

3. Is parents' income proof required if one doesn't wish to apply for scholarship?

Got a interview call today. Interview date: 10th.

Hi,

We all know that a word is given to all the applicants who appear for F2F interveiws at ISB. But for interviews taken on skype, how does ISB go about it ? Do they ask to speak on some word for a minute. People who have appeared for skype interviews this year please help !

Thanks

Are the calls based on Application Number. I mean if people with App Series 141**** have started getting the calls does it mean , its over for people with app series 140**** . Any idea ?

Hi @Blu_Dragon ,I am in Similar lines of you having an MBA (from a Tier 3 School) , but considering you have not mentioned your exp after MBA, i request you to please get a decent 5-7 work ex after ur MBA and then look at options. Also i feel that MBA from ISB for Brand value as an excuse will be against you, considering there r many ppl who wants to their first MBA for many other reasons. Secondly, E MBA is really a very good option, but if ur over 10 yr work ex and age >35, go for it since ur age vl b way above the average age of any regular B school and also u may not look at coming out of ur job. NUS is a good bet. Thirdly, If you r looking at regular ISB itself, look into urself y u need it, there are many reasons other than the brand, the reason for me is to get a global MBA from a reputed B school(World class faculty, International perspective, Student exchange in world class B schools etc) and make my fundamentals more strong. For me placement is not a concern since i am planning to move into the similar job after this course may be with a higher salary or responsibility.Hope this will help to finalise things...
Thanks for your feedback man. Really appreciate it.

I would just like to share two of my view points with you
1> I will never give brand value as a reason in an interview though it will be the actual reason. FORE is a tier 2(ranked 43 currently in Pagalguy) B School of Delhi. And after spending 2 years there I am quite convinced that MBA is not for gaining knowledge. And in ISB you have exam after every 15 days. International faculty, students are good answers for interview but in reality this won't happen. I will do this to increase my current package from 7 lacs to say 20 lacs. For knowledge I am doing something else. With all due respect I can't see my fundamentals getting strong in ISB.

2> I just have 7 months of experience and my age is 24 yrs nw. I will take GMAT in 2014 and then choose timing as suitable for me as it remains valid for 5 years. I think 4 years will be enough as ISB requires min of 2 years.

Would highly appreciate your take on the above 2 points.

Did any international applicant got a call in past few days.I have seen very less calls from ISB to international applicants. The hope is diminishing
Same here :(

Looking at the increased interview call posts in this forum in the last 2 days and considering that today we have entered November, I guess the final surge of interview calls have begun. Hope to catch the last train. Keeping my fingers crossed!

All the best to all puys who are in for the interview. For those who are still waiting, let us not loose hope guys, we are still in the game!

@vix23 me too international...i am located in china...no calls yet...and the most frustrating part is that i receive mails from ISB every now and than and get excited when i see it on my mobile. When i check whats inside its just a newsletter or some webinar invite

@@koolguitarist - Are you planning to apply for XLRI GMP too (I posted on that thread)? My GMAT for ISB is on lower side, not really sure, in spite of good experience and extra-currics. And this delay is driving me crazy

Can any Puy give some inputs on the video essay. The topics seems very abstract to me. Should it be a philosophical approach?

Me international too..... Located in Japan. I had thought that with a score of 720 GMAT, good acads, good extra curricular and international exposure, I would at least get an interview call. But it seems that either the standards of ISB have risen further, or maybe there was further scope of improvement in the application anyways, as I posted earlier, I haven't given up hope yet
@VincISB Hey buddy. In the video essay, the real thing being tested is your articulation skill. So the contents can be anything. However, it is will be better that you connect your philosophy to some real life incident or maybe your work. You must make it a bit humorous if possible. The location of shooting can also be given a thought and you can base your story on the location or vice versa.

@vj_2kool Thanx a ton for the answer bud! I like the humor idea. But not getting any ideas though!

hey guys !! For those who have had their interview - can you please suggest how did you manage your stay and travel? How far is ISB from the Hyderabad airport? Any nice hotels that anyone can suggest in the vicinity? Thanks.

@debjeet From the airport, there is a bus service to a place called hi-tech city. Two way ticket costs cheaper, around Rs 500, as far as I can remember. One way taxi fair is somewhere around Rs 800 from the airport. From hi-tech city, you can either take a taxi or a shared auto-rickshaw. Total 1.5 hours journey I guess.....
@debjeet A far as stay is concerned, I had gone to ISB for a campus tour and the admissions committee was very hospitable. They were kind enough to find me a place in their executive housing for Rs 3,500. Although costly, it gave me a chance to stay on campus and interact with some students. Good ROI
