I have got some unusual requests and have come across some very surprising chit chat thats doing rounds ....So lemme clarify some of them if I may :-
1.Some people have requested me to share my essaysà
Guys, Please understand that this is a very unusual request because every person who has made it to ISB must have written his/her essays himself/herself only after lots & lots of soul-searching and hard work with absolute clarity about what each one has to do with one's career/goals and you too are expected to do the same. Moreover, every profile is different(or diverse as it is said) and accordingly their essays are very specific and center around their own profile. Believe me having a look at anybody else's essays is gonna be counter-productive for you because voluntarily or involuntarily you tend to get influenced by their essays and this will create additional problems for you during the i/v if you get a call. Ofcourse , what I would suggest is you should rather have one on one discussions /reviews from ISB alums and this would help you in a better way than what you are asking for which is unfair.
2.Don't try to speculate the number of people who have got admits/are waitlisted r whatever……Becoz all the news that's floating around is rumour and though an R1 admit I myself do NOT have a clear picture about this and will have to wait till the classes start in april. Even people who would be my peers at ISB would tell you the same thing .I understand your anxiety and all those fears and the mental roller-coaster ride that all of you guys are going through becoz hardly until 9 days back I too was like one of you. But I would request you to PLEASE hold your nerves and wait for things to happen because what's destined to happen will happen and there's no stopping it. If you have put in your hard work and dedication which I am sure all of you would have…Please wait for it to materialise…becoz if you lose ur calm with only this …just imagine and ask yourself this question….. would you be able to hold your nerves once inside ISB becoz it's an even more difficult road ahead?
3.And as I had said in an earlier post, don't wait for that call to come, be prepared for your i/v from now. I got a call 9 days before my i/v while my friend who too is an admit got his call just the previous day b4 his actual i/v. I tried to chill out all those 9 days b4 the i/v of course not losing focus on my profile. The point is not to get too desperate and stress yourself.
4.Last you will get into ISB only when you are ready and each one of you can be ready at some point of time provided he/she puts in a lot of hard work and gets a clear picture of what he/she wants to do and has done so far in life. Think on the very basic points and find very concrete answers to the following questions :-
a.What sets you apart from your peers ? Tell this to your friend/peer and see if he believes you or not.
b.What is that you exactly want to do at ISB ?Tell this to an alum and seek his/her feedback.
c.Find an alum who is in the same field/sector as the one you wish/have chosen to pursue and is senior to you and tell him/her about your strategy or course of action or views. Seek their feedback again to get a clearer picture.
ALL THE BEST R2 ASPIRANTS…..God bless you J
....congrats on the admit by the way.
HI,
I am a re applicant. The problem I am facing is during my previous application(R2-2011) my essays were not written properly and had no direction in it. It was about domain and industry change. NOw, after 2 years my profile has improved and I have clear ideas about my goal and why MBA answer. And that too it is a logical progression in the same domain and industry.
In the re-app essay do we need to specify how my profile has changed w.r.t. my essays in my previous attempt or just my previous attempt. Because if I try to weave a story around how I have improved with an eye on the essays, I will not be able to show improvements.
Please advise me over how to frame the re-app essay.
Any pointers are deeply appreciated.
TIA

Yes you should mention how your profile has changed over the years... and rewrite all the essays...
A: Action, what were the actions you took? Your exact contribution, describe this in detail as it will become a crucial part of your essays
R: Result/Impact: What was the quantifiable impact of this project. How many Rupee worth of Revenue your project bought in, what was percentage improvement in efficiency or productivity. How much cost in crores or millions did you save in a specified period of time? How many people's lives did you affect and how?
Any idea when is the 2014 batch classes going to start ?
finally submitted my app!!
Puys,
In the application, where can I mention the professional certifications such as PMP ? Please advise ASAP as I am unable to figure it out.
Also the application needs the contact details of my immediate supervisor. I have not mentioned him as one of the Recommenders. What will ISB do with these contact details - will they reach out to him ?
A bit last minute, this, but if anyone wants his/her essays to be reviewed, please mail the same to me at aritro.b@gmailer

I am sure you can cut it short.2) Try to upload the original score, which you get online, and not the unofficial report which you get just after your exam. Original score is a 3 page report. Upload only the first page only.3)Mails to the evaluators are sent as soon as you submit their details ( including the email ids) in the online application form . The evaluators must submit their confidential report before the deadline. Otherwise you wont be able to submit the application.
