ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

I see many fellow puys panicking over not receiving verification mails.Do you really think a premier institute like ISB won't even have the courtesy to verify your app and respond. ISB did not complain when we sat on our incomplete apps for over two months and flooded its server with applications on the last two days of deadline.I can say from my experience that the ISB adcom is one of the most pro-active that i have seen in my app journey and i am sure they must be doing all things possible to expedite the process. The verification mails sent out in last 2-3 days is an example of that. The applicant pool is usually large for ISB and time consumption is understandable. The least we can do is not to make their job more complex with our incessant mails on verification atleast.
No matter how many ever times, in whichever form the candidates are told that they WILL receive verification email, candidates will still worry I guess...

that explains why after submission ISB sends the message " Please do not call us and we will not encourage phone calls to check status and thank you for your patience" patience in bold. :)"

@srm85 , I am from Karnataka, not from blare though and been working here ..
@crackster Ok. How is ur prep going? I have still not got out of the excitement of receiving the call. I have a huge smile on my face since ystd I hope it stays that way till the interview
@srm85 , I havent started my prep, and happy that you are excited.. πŸ˜ƒ I was only for a minute happy when i saw the invite.. but since I am a reapplicant I am probably cynical..

@crackster You must give urself the credit. Evaluation is tougher for reapplicants, so u definitely impressed them this time.

The schedule is as follows for 5th Jan:

11:30 @crackster
12:30 @vikkapoo
14:00 @delatpg
15:30 @srm85 (me)

We puys shud catch up if travel plans permit. I think we can hang out in the ISB cafeteria (....and mark our territories )

ATB to all the pagal fellows who are about to be I/viewed. You have indeed given a new life to this thread. On behalf of puys who are still banging their heads, I request all the silent observer puys who have got the i/v calls to unleash yourselves and your profiles here.

@crackster : Hey,is it possible for you to share your i/v experience last time 'round?
Also it would be great if you can reflect on what went wrong in your opinion?

Hello to everyone on this thread and it has been quiet a while for me following this thread ( From June 2012 ..was Targeting R1 but ..). submitted the app in R2 and got the App complete mail from Adcom around 18th Dec.

My profile:
Education: B.Tech
Work-ex: IT - 4 years and 8 Months working for a Financial sector client based in US.
Onsite exposure : 3 months
Location: Kolkata
Acads: Decent. Was somehow the School topper and then Branch topper in college. Got a gold Medal for that in college
EC: Have tried hand at many things such as cricket, table tennis, quizzing, network gaming. Have participation certificate from many things. Never really won anything

GMAT: 730 (Second attempt) AWA 5.0 , IR 8
670 (First Attempt) AWA 6.0 , IR 8.0. Reason for not submitting the app in R1.

my i/v location is kolkata so waiting for the i/v calls.

I just wanted an opinion whether it is advisable to carry my original acads certificats or EC certificates to i/v.
I know the answer varies from person to person so just wanted to get a general perception from everyone. Whether the Interviewer really do see certificates there at i/v location?

The reason i ask this is because i dont have my certis with me right now plus in my previous MBA i/v experience never once anybody asked me to show my certis ( I must have given 7-8 i/v previously for diff. MBA colleges admitting based on CAT results).

I can always carry a print out of scanned copy of everything

Also i am a bit concerned about the AWA score. So any suggestion on that front would be helpful as well.

ATB to everyone.

As per the interview invite:

You need to report at least One hour prior to the scheduled interview time for another assessment, which precedes the interview. You need not carry with you any documents, except for the copy of this print-out to the venue.

So chillax :)

Thnx Man !!!! Direct words from Interview invite are a real booster .
@vineet.tyagi87 Welcome :)
@delatpg , Here is what I say about the interview , I mite not be politically correct, forgive me

1. Everything depends on the interview panel after this point.
2.You have to be VERY CLEAR about what you want to do post MBA and it should be feasible, not like I am an pilot right now and want to be a software engineer post MBA or similar lines.

What went wrong IMO for me
1. I wasnt clear about my post MBA goals and I also said that .
2.I was asked some questions about political situations, I explained and kind of felt it went over the interview panels heads and they did not understand what I was saying .One of the interviewers was repeatedly stating same things over and over again.
3.I was myself but I wasnt diplomatic in the least.
4. The interview panel didnt agree to what I said and I didnt acknowledge that they were right and stood upon my opinion( I will do this even now ).

All in all, they didnt like me, no adcom member was present, just 2 alums and 1 current student .. who just joined the panel a few minutes before i went to the interview room.

Wow, so much of activity in a single day! Congrats to all the shortlisted candidates, hope to hear good news from you guys! πŸ˜ƒ

@crackster Hey, did you explicitly expressed interest towards political situations in your application or it just got into the conversation in the interview?
@rochak22 25 - 30 mins. Although exceptions are always there. Shortest being 10 mins and longest being more than an hour.

anyone from chennai received the call??

Shortlisted for interview-5th Jan-Hyd(blr)

@srm85 count me in! my interview is at 13:40

Now the shift started from Appln. Status to I/v Call.. Good going PGs .
