Hi Vish. What is your interview centre - Hyderabad or Kolkata?

Guys finally my waiting period ends.I got an interview call through Skype.

I am clueless how to prepare for it .How do you guys preparing for it?
@gmatCallow Hey are you out of india? n wats ur i/v date and profile?
@sayanddude thanks dude... what's up with you? is your centre also Hyderabad?

@gmatCallow relax dude... from what I've heard (others' experiences):

1. Be calm and confident

2. Be thorough and clear in future plans (a lot of time in your interview will be spent on this, in all probability)

3. If you are either way below or way above the average age of applicants, justify appropriately why it makes sense to pursue PGP now

4. Revise all basics of your graduate studies and of the industry you work in

5. Finally, it is mostly like a conversation so don't feel like a prisoner awaiting a firing squad :P

Anybody travelling to ISB Hyderabad Campus for an interview on the 6th January 2013, Sunday? It would be good to catch up / travel together / network. I am travelling from Mumbai same morning.

Cheers

Another speculation based on my observation of the profiles who got interview call -

For an Application, a high GMAT Score (700+) has greater positive influence on the application than a high work experience (5/6+)...

What I mean is - Keeping everything else at approx. same level, a candidate with 700+ GMAT and 2-3 Years of experience is at a better position to proceed through the admission process at ISB than a candidate with 650 GMAT and 5-6 years of experience.

What do you think ? Is it an overanalysis or just obvious or simply wrong? :)

The only thing that turns me off whenever I visit this thread is over analysis and plethora of hypothesis. I know we all are anxious waiting for the call. But such hypothesis only adds to agony :/

@skywalker.67 Congrats ... Skywalker. Wish you all the very best. Since I'm from Mumbai too, and awaiting the interview call, would you mind sharing your profile ?
@chelseafan_vish ya my center is also hyderabad.. let`s c
@rajivchatterjee .. I am just curious. why an MBA after Masters in Strategic Mgmnt. from HEC?
@swna A program that specific usually deals with very specific areas. It doesn't give you a wholesome idea about an enterprise. So it basically represents a gap in learning in my particular case.

And then there is also that other little thing about me wanting to be back in India.

Guys,

I have been hearing about an one hour assessment prior to the interview. Any idea what that assessment is about . Is that the one word essay..

Regards,
Vamsi

no call reported.yesterday/today for 2nd week of January. ISB continues to wash out our predictions and theories.

It isn't a one hour assessment, they will ask you to write a 50 to 100 words essay on the give one word within a span of 30 minutes.

All you guys who opted for Hyderabad as interview centre, don't loose hope on your interview call. There is a reason why ISB has mentioned that interviews will happen between 17th Dec and 7th Feb. They obviously cannot handle the sheer volume of applications in a week or two. We are hardly half way through and loads of interview calls will be rolled out in the coming weeks.

Stay positive till Feb 2nd guys. Miracles do happen if you are patient ;)
