Yar tu statistics tutor tho nahi hain na? Good analysis..So the probability turns out to be 27/10^6. Thus for 30% of 770 ~= 200 gals the probability would be 0.0054...phew...seems tough all of a sudden..can we skew the chances a bit
guys.. not to demotivate you guys or anything.. you just left out the most important variable! The part where how many of the female students are single πŸ˜› the lady who interviewed me.. she joined ISB with a 8 year old kid.. so i think you kinda need to fit that in.
@Kode_A : Actually I am more of a consulting person. Software is something I can do, but Consulting is something I enjoy.

Can you please suggest wat should I work upon and wat score should I aim for ?
@dodgeforgmat : Its never plenty till d time you achieve wat you set out for.
Still, could you suggest wat should be my target ?

Ii am disappointed to see the quality of some of the recent posts on this forum. All this talk about drinking and romance ? The first step to getting an MBA is that one starts to act more like a grown up and less like a teenager.

If you want to let off some steam, pls post on facebook.

Jeez, where the heck is your professionalism guyz ?

Hi group,
I have my PGPMAX interview on 28th at Bangalore. Has anyone gone thru PGPMAX interview recently? Can you share your experience? I am looking for few pointers on what to expect during the interview...

Thanks,
-ek

Hey, all I remember is someone speculating baseless theories during the interview stage which completely revolved around the word "shortlist" or the lack of it. Where was your professionalism then, eh mate.....So, get off your high horse

I think the thread has already served its purpose. Almost all people are done with interviews for this year. I personally prefer light troll, which helps keep anxiety level low, to people discussing baseless theories. Enough professional talk mann, just let it go till 15th Feb ...

agreed with @JoshMachines

@LuckyThirteen I am not against maintaining professionalism but one part of management is dealing with stress and anxiety and a little troll helps a lot in that. Almost everyone has discussed about the interview, plan B's and life goals etc. and everyone is waiting for 15th Feb. There is no harm in posting some "theories" if that helps in keeping the anxiety levels low.

hmmf ! 3 DAYS to GO ! ..

Whats with finding "single women " ..

Whats the probability of finding a handsome-decent-single-caring- non player male ?

I agree with @LuckyThirteen ,these stuff dont belong here, maybe career plans ..

Vani, Below are my thoughts.
1. What a lot of people have: The IT industry experience.
2. Relatively lower experience (Only by quantity. I do not know the quality
3. Remember that it is not about how many co-curricular or extra curricular activities you have. Its about the attributes that you bring out with these activities. ISB looks for 7-8 attributes in any applicant. some of these attributes are assessed in the application. Roughly about 3-4 of these attributes are assessed during the interview.
4. You have many things to talk about. Be absolutely clear of how you want to structure your essay. It is easy for you to put in a lot of things in your essay with out thought on how they link together to give one compact story. If you are showcasing a particular attribute in one essay, ensure that you put one or may be two stories around that particular attribute. The attribute should be one that has or will help you in achieving your goals.
5. Use recent co-curriculars to off set your lower experience level by showing the adcom that you excelled beyond most people at work.
Hope this would serve as a decent starting point for you. I am no expert on this but I speak only from my own experience.
Good Luck!!!!
@eking I dont think so, Most posts have been regarding I/V's for PGP course...

Brother, we respect everyone's perspective and we are well aware that this is a public forum, specially meant for sharing aspirations and helping each other. Sorry but we did not use the word 'Romance' or the likes anywhere, please do not assume things. It was just causal light humor meant to be taken easy. I hope you understand it. Even I do not personally like repetitive rant on some irrelevant topic.

Anyway, I apologize for the inconvenience caused...cheers!

Take it easy, man.I guess everybody is mature enough to realise their conduct here. Its a social forum where you interact with like-minded people with a casual approach.Let us not try to make it some place where people have to ACT like someone else and not be their true self.

@reecha : Probability of @waterman impressing a girl and winning her shall increase exponentially if a female friend is his wingman. Yaar help the lad :)

Hey,
GMAT score is like runs while batting in cricket. More the merrier.
Everyone targets 750.
Then make best use of your best score possible.

If you have read the forum, even 650 is good enough to get a call with good profile.

Your challenge is going to be to put all those achievements in 300 words essays :D

All the best.
ANd glad to see that you are giving yourself solid 6 -8 months for the preparation for the whole admission thing. Wise thing to do.

SORRY SHAKTIMAN :(

But last I remember marriage and alcohol both are 21+ topics. Don't think teenagers should get into these issues so early in their life.

And about being Professional: I have a different funda in life.
WORK HARD PARTY HARDER.
GMAT, Applications, Essays, interviews : Dealt with professionalism.

Waiting for 15th Feb: Scotch toh banti hai bosss...... :)

Number teraa.... mera yeh request sunle mere bhai... cheers bol and saath mein rock n roll

(PS: I know I should ve had been a poet.. kaha padhe likhe logo ke beech phas gaya... MBA n all...)

I am not exactly in a situation to discuss my post MBA goals right now coz I am not sure when I will be doing my MBA. But that apart, I would like to be as a mentor for few early stage startups post MBA along with heading my company. Once I am well set I would like to head or run my own Startup Incubator and then eventually a Startup Accelerator along with it.

It is just an assuring path for my long term dream of becoming a venture partner at some stage of my life. May be 15 years down the line.
