To people like me who were dinged. I say again, I was down and out back then, confused and disillusioned. It was CAT, and now ISB. IIMs fucked me at 99.6, ISB at a great GMAT, but here I am, shamelessly struggling on. I am up and running again and I know you will too. It ll take time, but I know it will be like never happened.I hope to see many familiar faces in the Class of 2015 thread. Lets own some freshers people !
@crackster Don't hate the process man ! Quantifying human performance and deciding who has a richer and more diverse profile is tough. Though you may say you have great acads and had a great interview, there would be good reasons for you to have been rejected. Don't lose hope man ! play to your strengths, see where you lack and work on them . Come back stronger and harder. No Indian college has such a rigorous an overarching process to evaluate their candidate pool. ISB also happens to be 1 of only 3 institutes in India that offer a seat purely on merit. So don't get emo and say that you will not apply next year ... you would miss out on a good opportunity.
But I thank you for your kind and encouraging words @myth_dispeller
@rohitsa , I know some people who got in.. lets not get preachy about it.. I disagree with the 771 best, I actually DO have a very good profile.
The question is not what 'you' think of your profile, the question is what ISB thinks of your profile. These are 2 very different questions with potentially 2 different answers.
You have to go back to the drawing board and honesty assess where you went wrong. If a ding implies that you have given up on your dreams, then i have to say that your dreams were not worth pursuing anyway.
Let me apologize for being direct. I feel that you dont need a shoulder to cry on. What you need is someone who takes you by the scruff of your neck to shake you out of your stupor.
If it is any consolation, i have over 13 years of work experience.I have been offered an admit.
