I am an ISB aspirant and want to get admit in 2013. Please help me in understanding the terminologies-R1,R2. When and how should I apply to be eligible for session starting in 2013. I am yet to give GMAT.

Speaking for myself - i did it in one shot but i know some applicants who did in parts and joined it.

Shoan what abt u? are u done with application?

@ps25 I too shot it one go.. I'm in the process of uploading the video.. rest all is done.. But want to tighten the reapplicant essay.. so might submit later tonight or tomorrow morning..

I shot the video using a camcorder. But there's some ambient hissing noise.

My voice is pretty clear and audible, but that hissing degrades the quality.
I wonder if others are facing issues with the quality of their videos?

I shot my 85 secs video using my Galaxy S3. Its whopping 200mb !!!! Has to compress it using , i dont know some 5-6 different convertors.. finally managed it to 14.6 mb , but yes the quality has gone down substantially but still its ok. My video too has slight hissing sound but iam gonna live with it .

R1/R2 or Cycle-1/Cycle-2 are 2 rounds in which ISB accepts and evaluates applications/submissions. R1 deadline is Sept 15 (tomorrow) and R2 deadline is Nov 30, 2012. You should be giving your GMAT and submitting the application by Nov 30 if you are targeting the batch starting in April 2013. Check out ISB website for details on PGP programme and start working on application accordingly. Let me know if you need anything else. And yes, this is the right thread for ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

@sudhir3127 true.. I shot mine using an HD DSLR.. but reducing it to the size limit killed the quality

Phew!!! Done with apps. Damn! took me hell lot of time to compile so much information. Anyways keeping my finger cross for that coveted call.

Man, i cant believe i did so much, so much introspection and retrospection...in doing this application. but feeling is great, achieved one major milestone (which nothing but first step)

Can you play your uploaded video from website of ISB? I see some icon of Quicktime Player coming after I uploaded video but its taking long time to load. Are they going to convert our files in to quicktime?

I dont think there is any option to play the uploaded video. You can just browse to upload again and delete existing file. That's all I can recall seeing before I submitted app. You are scaring me now

Dude, i am uploading RIGHT NOW and when I finish uploading I see an icon(a big thumbnail type) appearing below the upload window.

I called up ISB office today and I was told deadline for recommendation is 20 September.

No, its not coming but I think we perhaps can if its "processed" as in it is converted to quicktime format and bandwidth is good at your end.

@ps25 it doesnt let us play the video.. but the tab is definitely there..
