Dear Readers,
The qualifying marks (for various categories) required to be included in the various rank lists for JEE Advanced 2015 have been revised. The qualifying marks have been reduced by 30% across all categories. The new qualifying marks are as follows:
Rank list Subject-wise Aggregate
Common rank list 12 124
OBC-NCL 11 112
SC 06 62
ST 06 62
Important Information: Do note that the JEE Advanced 2015 comprised two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both these papers comprised questions on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates need to satisfy the subject-wise cut-offs and also secure the aggregate qualifying marks in order to be included in a rank list. Do note that the total marks obtained in a subject would be the sum of the marks awarded for that subject in Paper 1 and in Paper 2. The aggregate marks would be the sum of the marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
The following are the important details regarding the maximum possible marks:
Maximum aggregate marks: 264 (Paper-1) + 240 (Paper-2) = 504
Maximum marks in Physics: 88 (Paper-1) + 80 (Paper-2) = 168
Maximum marks in Chemistry: 88 (Paper-1) + 80 (Paper-2) = 168
Maximum marks in Mathematics: 88 (Paper-1) + 80 (Paper-2) = 168
Tie-break rules:
The candidate with a higher aggregate score will be awarded a higher rank (small number). If two candidates have the same aggregate score, the candidate with higher marks in Mathematics will be awarded a higher rank (small number). If two candidates have the same aggregate score and also the same score in Mathematics, the candidate with higher marks in Physics will be awarded a higher rank (small number). If two candidates have the same aggregate score and also the same score in Mathematics and Physics, both the candidates will be awarded the same rank.
All the Best!

Dear Readers,
The Supreme Court of India has scrapped the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) that was held on the 3rd of May, 2015. The Supreme Court has asked CBSE to conduct a fresh examination within the next 4 weeks. This judgment came in the wake of various media reports regarding irregularities and large scale cheating in the exam. Around 6.3 lakh candidates had appeared for the prestigious examination. The result of this test was to be announced on the 5th of June, 2015. But, on the direction of the premier court, the declaration of the results was postponed.
It may be noted here that, as per its notification released on 7th May, 2015, CBSE had denied that there was any leakage of the AIPMT 2015 paper.
The AIPMT is held in a single stage and is an objective type test. This 3-hour entrance test consists of 180 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates can appear for the test in either English or Hindi.
