Attending a National level HR Conference on "HR BEYOND BOUNDARIES: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES" with the dignitaries from various MNCs across the nation as the speakers.
LBSIM conducted today, a National HR Conference-2013 on the theme "HR Beyond Boundaries: Challenges & Opportunities", 'Dr A.K Balyan'- MD & CEO ,LNG Petronet Ltd, graced the occasion as the chief guest along with the Presidential address from 'Shri Anil Shastri'- Former Union minister and Chairman, LBSIM, Delhi.

HR Conference Technical Session 1.. Addressed by Mr. K. Sridhar (Founder and Director, Kelsa Solutions, Chennai), Mr. Vikas Rai Bhatnagar (Chief People and Wellness Officer Shree Cement Limited, Ajmer, Rajasthan), Mr. Rohil Khanna (Associate Director, Ernst & Young, Gurgaon) Ms. Vijaya Sampath (HR Business Advisor, BMR Advisors, Gurgaon).. The chairperson for the session was Mr. Vijay Deshpande (Vice President (HR), JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, New Delhi).
Technical session 2, on the theme "HR and Feneration Next" was conducted by Mr. Behram Sherdiwala (President, HR,ACC Limited), Mr. Satyendra Gaur (GM-HR, Adani Wilmar), Mr. Nirmal Singh Raghav (Vice President, IDEA Cellular Limited), Mr. Anshul Khurana (Sr. Talent Partner, Adobe Systems India Pvt. Limited) and Mr. Nitin Khindria (Head Training and GM-HR, ITL Delhi).
HR conference was really good experience.The speakers shared very important points like new focus on "quantative" aspects rather than "qualitative" aspects in HR.The HR manager should be a holistic manager and should have skills in finance,marketing,operations of the company.Very important lesson to come out from session was that it is duty of individual to maintain work-life balance😁. Most interesting part was that "everyone should be his own HR manager".All in all very good learning experience

Like Every year " Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award 2013 " is going to be instituted by LBSIM-Delhi, at RashtrapatiBhawan.
The Award is to be given by; President of India to -"Dr. Rajendra Achyut Badwe ".
Here is a summary of his academics and achievements.
Dr. Rajendra Achyut Badwe was born on May 18, 1956. He is a well-known surgical
oncologist. Presently, he is the Director of Tata Memorial Centre and Professor & Head,
Department of Surgical Oncology, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
Dr. Badwe, after doing his MBBS & MS from Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai, joined Tata
Memorial Hospital in 1986 and till date he has served Tata Memorial in various positions
except his brief stint in between as ISDE Fellow at Toronomon Hospital, Tokyo in the year
1989 and as Registrar in Hedley Atkins Breast Unit at Guy's Hospital, London during 1989-91.
He also held the position of Consultant in Cancer Research Campaign at Kings College,
London and Lecturer in Breast Unit at Royal Marsden Hospital, London during the period
1991-2002.
He is a regular invitee to numerous national, international conferences and meetings related
to cancer education and research with breast cancer in particular.
He has over 100 research paper publications in leading national & international journals and
is a member of more than 20 professional bodies. For almost two decades, he has held
editorial positions in reputed journals like Lancet, BJC, Cancer, International Journal of
Surgery, Annals of Oncology, Indian Journal of Surgery, Indian Journal of Cancer and many
more.
He has many national awards and honours to his credit for his outstanding contribution in the
field of Surgical Oncology.
He is the recipient of Padma Shree award conferred on him by the President of India in the
field of Medicine in the year 2013, Indian Nuclear Society Outstanding Service Award, UICC
Reach to Recovery International Medal, C V Menon Gold Medal, International Society of
Diseases of Esophagus Scholarships to name a few.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of Cancer Research the 14th Lal
Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence in Public Administration, Academics and
Management for 2013 is being conferred on Dr. Rajendra Achyut Badwe.

Mr Rajendra Achyut Badwe,Director,Tata Memorial Centre and Professor & Head,Department of Surgicial oncology,Tata Memorial Hospital,mumbai delivered the lecture on Cancer in India.He is the recipient of Lal Bahdur Shastri National award this year,which is presented by President Pranab Mukharjee at Rashtrpati Bhawan today..His main focus was on how to fight it.The main ideas to come out was that removal of Tobacco related products and maintaining a healthy lifestyle like ,more walking and cycling, are the best ways to fight cancer.He also stressed on nationwide nodal centres for hospitals like Tata Memorial hospital in Mumbai.
