Was chatting with a collegue the other day - happens to an alumni of a neighbouring college. I found something interesting in the conversation; thought i should bring it to the table..........
They have a system where the concerned committee at the college (a parallel of our FAN Team) assigns a mentor to every first guy in college. Sounds familiar??? Well there is a differrence............this mentor is from the industry and guides him/her during placements and afterwards.
I was wondering if something can be done on similar lines at FORE............
With 700+ members registered in the FORE community on orkut, this shouldnt be a problem for the first year. The "snowball" effect should take care of things second year onwards. Nice tool to integrate the batch, eh?
Just a thought.........but worth considering. FAN/FCD/CID members listening......................??

Wot is the cutoff for FSM?.
wot is the placement scene like? this year must be really gud with the booming economy. and how were lateral placements last year? Could you give me names of any big names who hv confirmed this year?
i hv 4 yrs of work-ex. so wot chances do i hv? also, wot about freshers. my sis is also taking the CAT this year, so how wud u rate the placement scene for a fresher?

I also read on this thread that FORE calls students above 80% CAT percentile. Isnt the cut off too low for a good B-school. Isnt it true that better schools have higher cut offs for getting an interview call?
FORE students plz tell me how you felt about the college. Are infrastructure facilities good? How are the hostel rooms - single or double occupancy. Any other details which you can give will be appreciated.

c u don't need to worry about the college with and avg. domestic salary of 5.75 LPA..min 3.6 lpa which has consitently been ranked among the top 15 b- schools and regarding the percentile thing who said good b-schools calls are proportional to d percentile...d real good b-schools take into consideration all d facts not just ur cat score which is the case with FORE also ...even sp jain sends call on a percentile as low as 75%...they want to take in some1 who not just performed on the day of cat bt throughout..that is why u have 4 different coloumns for all ur years of graduation on d FORE admission form..whreas most other hv just one coloumn so consistency is d name of the game at FORE..it even takes into consideration d institute u did ur graduation from...and regarding the percentile i think this year its nt going to be less than 90% for a fresher with a good academic record....waise how much ur scoring in d cat?:

hi...i got my gd-pi for fore tom. there's soemthing written in the prospectus like a situational test. cud u plz let me know what that is. any prep for that? and also what is the genreal trend in terms of topics for gd..n the pi...stress interview or genreal?

iv got thru but im not certain as yet if im joining due to some other options..
thought this thread is more appropriate for my query. i heard there is no hostel for girls - thr is one a few kms from the campus but since im a resident of NCR i wudnt get it...may i ask what arrangements have the girls made for themselves? i live in noida and im guessing it wudnt be practical driving everyday to coll...any inputs?

okie so here onwards i will describe my journey to FORE well to begin with i had the following offers KJ SOMAIYA.FORE ,LBSIM,IPMG,IIT ROORKEE,AND one result still awaited but decided to go for FORE...if the awaited result doesnt comes out to be in my favour aneways the college opening on 13th june so still some time but believe me in orkut the community of FORE 2008 -2010 is one of the most active community with guys woorying for lesss girls in the community and and seniors well they are more active on the coommuntiy than juniors very helping inddeed
